Help Rescue Our Afghan Girls

Ascend is a Kabul-based NGO that helps Afghan young women climb to their potential, all the while sending a greater message to the country: women deserve rights, respect, and power. In 2018, an Ascend team member became the first Afghan woman to stand atop Noshaq [7492m], Afghanistan's highest peak. 

As the crisis in Afghanistan continues to unfold, our team is in grave danger. We need your help now more than ever!

Conditions at the Kabul airport have remained dangerous, forcing our team members to spend days and nights amidst unrelenting gunfire, violence, and theft, in dangerous heat with few supplies. The situation is dire, and we must move quickly.

We are working around the clock doing everything we can to evacuate our girls, and we are asking our global community for support. This fundraiser is now dedicated entirely to Ascends emergency evacuation and resettlement efforts, and to provide continuing support to young women who remain Afghanistan. Again, sharing is greatly appreciated

 Our evacuation efforts will continue for as long as our window to do it exists. Should there be funds left over, the remainder will be used for costs associated with resettling and supporting our girls in their new lives (wherever they may end up), and to continue serving those women who remain in Afghanistan. Your help is appreciated every step of the way. 

 And regarding our ongoing efforts in Afghanistan: we are here to stay. This crisis will require us to adapt and make significant changes in how we can best be of service to the women of Afghanistan. How we operate and deliver impact will change depending on the coming weeks and months. However, our mission to empower Afghan young women remains the same. We are focused on the urgent matters at hand, and will be back to work in the coming months.
