If you get warm fuzzies while playing with animals, seeing animals, or even thinking about animals, then August is the month for you! With Cat Day, Lion Day, Elephant Day, and Dog Day, August is the month to give your furry (or scaly) friend a hug and consider donating to animals in need. Plus, Cat Day and Dog Day are both in the month of August so cat & dog people can finally unite in their love for animal furiends!

August 8th - International Cat Day

International Cat Day is coming up on the 8th, a day to celebrate and appreciate some of our most noble pets. Nonprofits like Kitty Bungalow are doing awesome work with cats. If you are lucky enough to live in the LA area, Kitty Bungalow will even bring kittens to you, so you can have your own kitten cuddle party!

August 10th - World Lion Day

If small house cats aren’t enough, the big cats have you covered with World Lion Day coming up on the 10th of August. Did you know lions are the most social of all the big cats? Get your pride together on Lion Day to celebrate!

August 12th - World Elephant Day

On World Elephant Day celebrate the biggest land mammal with your friends -- just don’t bring chili peppers! Elephants avoid chili peppers and are afraid of them. Farmers in Africa plant and place chili peppers around their fields to keep elephants from stepping on crops. This benefits both the locals and the elephants by keeping the crops for the people and the elephants in safer areas.

August 26th - International Dog Day

International Dog Day is an easy day to celebrate, just give your furry friend a nice hug and belly rub! If you do not have a dog, or just want to have more dog time, consider volunteering at a local animal shelter to be a dog walker. You could even have a national dog day party with your friends and their pups, sharing dog-approved snacks of course.

...As you can see, August and animals go together like bread and butter. Consider donating some of that dough to your local animal shelter or zoo, or having a celebration and encouraging guests to donate through Evite Donations. However you choose to celebrate, make it a memorable celebration by using Pledgeling's tools & services to give back through your events & your business!
