Every year, on October 27th the Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium invites restaurants and families cooking at home to make a dish featuring Parmigiano Reggiano cheese as a way to honor our founder, chef and UNEP GWA, Massimo Bottura’s historic gesture of support after the 2012 earthquake. This simple act of community helped save the livelihood and helped preserve the art of cheese-making across the region.
This year, Food for Soul honors this celebrated story while also giving visibility to the sustainability, biodiversity and protection of the terroir where the cheese is made. Parmigiano Reggiano symbolizes a culture of slow food and zero waste with its commitment to practices that nourish and replenish our ecosystem. These values are at the heart of our mission, demonstrating that cooking is both a Call to Act and an Act of Love.
To help us make this a year one of giving and sharing, we invite you to TAKE PART in Parmigiano Reggiano Day by cooking with this incredibly versatile ingredient and using all of its parts, in a recipe to share with family and friends.
THE BEST PART: The Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium has pledged to donate a wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese to Food for Soul for every $5,000 dollars raised during Parmigiano Reggiano Night!
And as a SPECIAL GIFT* of appreciation, everyone donating during this promotion will receive a limited edition recipe, a cheesy delicious favorite, made with love, from Massimo XOXO!
*Donor must provide name, email for gift
