Along with Taté Walker's webinar, we are hosting a fundraiser to provide copies of “The Trickster Riots” to young people through a fantastic organization that uplifts and empowers Lakota youth.
The Cheyenne River Youth Project is dedicated to giving Lakota youth and families access to the culturally relevant, enriching, and enduring opportunities needed to build stronger, healthier communities and a more vibrant future together.
Hello Friends!
We wanted to share that together we raised $1000 for "Getting The Trickster Riots out to Lakota Youth."
We were able to order 50 copies of "The Trickster Riots" and they are on their way to The Cheyenne River Youth Project. The books were purchased through two independent and Indigenous-owned bookstores, Birchbark Books and Palabras Bilingual Bookstore. Both shops were wonderful to work with and really helped to expedite the delivery of the books.
Taté Walker will be at The Cheyenne River Youth Project this weekend for their workshop with the youth and families and to share their books. Over 40 young people have signed up for the weekend. 💫
Thank you so much for your generous hearts in helping to bring this abundance together for such a potent purpose.
With gratitude,
Pam, Jen, April, Laura, Sara, Julie, Lillian, and Elyshia
