Support the Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation on Giving Tuesday 2023! The BLHF is a leading advocate for Black mental health in the US, committed to providing culturally competent therapy resources in Black communities.
Named after Boris Lawrence Henson, the father of actress Taraji P. Henson, the foundation addresses mental health challenges in Black communities, aiming to remove barriers preventing individuals from accessing vital resources and support.
Established in 2018, the BLHF is known for trusted referrals and a deep understanding of the health needs of communities of color. Through programming and awareness campaigns, the foundation aims to highlight mental health as a crucial issue in Black communities.
This Giving Tuesday, contribute to joy by supporting the Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation. Your support fuels our mission: creating spaces, providing resources, fostering joy, and reshaping the narrative around Mental Health in the Black Community. Our goal is to provide 1 million hours of free mental health services over the next five years! Through awareness campaigns, culturally competent resources, psychoeducational hangouts, and impactful initiatives, we aim to liberate the community mentally.
Your donation helps BLHF sustain its critical work. Through partnerships, the foundation promotes mental wellness, combats stigma, offers scholarships to Black students pursuing mental health careers, extends services to underserved schools and communities, addresses recidivism, and supports re-entry for returning citizens.
By contributing to this fundraiser, you empower the Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation to guide Black individuals in owning their history, heritage, and collective wounds in empowering ways. Join us on Giving Tuesday 2023 to make a lasting impact on the lives of those in need of mental health resources and support.
