It's the end of the year and we are fundraising to save one more pony- a little bay mare with feet so neglected she can barely walk. The kill buyers who have her didn't even bother to see if she's halter broke. We know almost nothing about her, only that she's at the end of the line and has had a rough go. With a little love and care we can discover what she's good at and find a home for her. Please chip in if you can. It will cost about 4K to bail from TN, quarantine in KY, transport to NY, and take care of all of her medical, dental and farrier needs.
More about us and what it costs to run the Collective:
It costs $500 per month to sustain each rescue horse. Every donation helps. Any portion that you can cover helps feed, shelter and care for our herd. Specify which pony you would like to support and you'll receive personal updates by text or email. You can also come visit them!
We believe horses are for everyone, and it takes a village to rehabilitate them, so we do so through community engagement with underserved groups, at-risk youth and area residents. We've saved 15 horses, rehomed seven, become home to dozens of local volunteers from 13 to 80 years old, and we serve community groups from Greene, Columbia and Dutchess Counties as well as Poughkeepsie. We are thrilled about our new partnership with Family Services in Poughkeepsie and looking forward to programming with their domestic violence survivors and at-risk youth.
We aren't where the money is, but we are where the need is, and there is something magical afoot as this community organization blooms. We have the horses, the programming, and the volunteer base, and now we seek to build our donor base.
