On Monday, May 1, 2023, we come together in celebration of HSA's work for the first time since 2019, as we honor Phylicia Rashad, actress, singer, director, and dean of the Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts at Howard University; Dr. Mary Schmidt Campbell, former president of Spelman College and former Commissioner of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs; the legacy of Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole with their cherished family, twin sisters Casey Cole-Ray and Timolin Cole-Augustus, Co-Founders of Nat King Cole Generation Hope, Inc.; HSA’s Chairman of the Board, Charles J. Hamilton, Jr.; corporate leader, American Girl, LLC; and philanthropic leader, the MetLife Foundation.
HSA annually serves over one thousand young people from across the greater New York Metro area onsite at HSA’s Herb Alpert Center in Harlem, and offsite through its arts education programs in New York City’s public and charter schools and community centers. Our School has experienced remarkable growth, which includes new programs such as Media & Design Murals, Theater Podcasting, and Media & Design Cinematography this year alone, with over 75% of students receiving scholarships.
Help us support our impactful arts education programming by donating tonight! 70% of HSA's annual budget comes from contributed income - donations from people like you.
