Jewel (18 Year Old Paint Mare)

Welcome to the fundraiser page for "Jewel" (18 Year Old Paint Mare), a dedicated initiative aimed at supporting the beautiful mare "Jewel" in leading a supportive and healthy life. We invite you to join us in this heartfelt mission to ensure that "Jewel" receives the care and love she deserves, all while benefiting the incredible nonprofit organization, Melody's Haven of Hope at Oregon Horsemanship.  

We brought "Jewel" from southern Oregon, and since then we have worked through a severe anxiety issue.  "Jewel" actually hurt herself due to her anxiety and was on stall rest for over 9 months, followed by over 6 months additional decompression time.  Last year a student started and fell in love with "Jewel".  When she told me she would do anything to help the mare out, I said it could potentially take months of connection work where "Jewel" felt "heard", then needed more ground work, conditioning, and if everything went well we would put her under saddle.  I knew "Jewel" had so much potential we had to give her a chance to prove herself.  After months of work, "Jewel" was ready to get under saddle again and then the next phase began.  With two students that wanted to help her we have been slowly working with her and within her boundaries (there is no rush when you want to do it right). We are continually progressing and seeing strides in her confidence.  We are asking that you consider giving to her care in order to give her the continued time she needs to see if she can fit into the riding program or will need to continue to stay on sanctuary or whatever the future holds for her.

You can pick an item or item(s) that she requires to maintain her health and care.  You can either make a One Time donation or monthly regular donations to cover either a specific cost or her entire care.
