The Coc Christians Overcoming Cancer

Man named Rick, battling stage IV prostate cancer reached out to The COC hoping that we offered financial assistance. He was facing him and his family becoming homeless due to needing to be off work for treatment. Rick was sitting at railroad tracks when he searched the internet for what he thought was one last time. Rick was wrestling with the idea of committing suicide so that his family would be able to pay bills with the funds from his life insurance policy. He shared that he had prayed hoping that God would answer. On that day he found a direct phone number to The COC Founder, Mary Jenkins. During that conversation Rick was given the emotional support he needed to see hope in the midst of his situation. He was also given instruction as to how to begin the application process for financial assistance. Rick applied and received support services that prevented his family from being displaced. "I really don't know how I ended up getting connect to your # except for trying to find help for my family. Thank you so much for everything."

Family requested a gas card, cleaning supplies and hygiene items due to mom battling metastatic cancer and returning home. $50 gas card and $50 supplies given.

The generosity of donors made it possible for The COC to coordinate the family having support services while at the hospital and in returning home followed by help the car situation.
