The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mercer County is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. We pursue our mission by matching under-resourced and underserved youth in Mercer County, ages 6-18, with caring adult mentors who provide emotional and intellectual support while they navigate whatever challenges they may face. Established in 1904 when an attorney in New York City recruited other lawyers to mentor the at-risk youth coming through the juvenile court system, Big Brothers Big Sisters’s model has withstood the test of time and is as relevant and effective today, if not more so, than it was over a hundred years ago
