Pledge to make a difference, together.
The Iraqi Children Foundation intervenes with love and hope in the lives of Iraqi orphans, child laborers, and displaced children who are vulnerable to abuse, neglect, and exploitation by criminals, extremists, and human traffickers.
The mission of the Iraqi Children Foundation is to invest in Iraq's orphans, street children, and displaced children by; being a voice for children with no voice, mobilizing resources to invest in education, health, protection, and trauma care, emphasizing sustainable hand-up initiatives over hand-outs, and, investing in training and capacity-building of Iraqis caring for children.
Ahmed (12) sells tissues on the street and didn't go to school. Through support from Street Lawyers and social workers, Ahmed has access to an opportunity to get an education and find other sources of work.
Hadeel (11) collects cans at the garbage dump to support her family. ICF's Hope Buses provide a safe space for Hadeel to come and learn, access nutrition, and get psychosocial support.
Sadiq (5) was abandoned by his family, and was living on the streets. Our social workers have provided critical support for children like Sadiq, and many others.
Mohammed (16) was wrongfully arrested for stealing, and spent time in prison. Our ICF Street Lawyers helped represent Mohammed in court, and supported his transition back into society after prison.
1. Good Health and Well-Being: ICF is committed to improving the health and well-being of vulnerable children in Iraq, many of whom face serious health challenges due to poverty, conflict, and displacement. Through its programs, ICF provides access to essential healthcare services, including medical treatments and mental health support, to help children recover from trauma and illnesses. By offering basic healthcare, including vaccinations, medical care, and rehabilitation services, ICF plays a crucial role in improving the physical and psychological well-being of at-risk children. 2. Quality Education: Education is a cornerstone of ICF's mission. Many children in Iraq, particularly orphans and displaced children, face significant barriers to education, including a lack of school supplies, inadequate infrastructure, and ongoing insecurity. ICF provides educational support through scholarships, after-school programs, tutoring, and other resources. By focusing on quality education, ICF ensures that these children have the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty, develop critical skills, and access future opportunities for personal and professional growth. 3. Gender Equality: ICF is dedicated to promoting gender equality in Iraq, where cultural and societal norms can often disadvantage girls and young women. Through its programs, ICF works to empower girls by providing them with the same access to education, health care, and legal protections as their male counterparts. Additionally, ICF advocates against gender-based violence and discrimination, ensuring that girls and young women receive the support they need to thrive in a society that often marginalizes them. 4. Reduced Inequalities: ICF is deeply committed to reducing inequalities, especially those faced by marginalized children in Iraq. Whether it's children from displaced families, orphans, or children living in extreme poverty, ICF works tirelessly to ensure that these children have access to the same opportunities and resources as other children. Through legal aid, educational support, and social services, ICF aims to address the systemic inequalities that prevent vulnerable children from accessing basic rights and opportunities, fostering a more inclusive society for all. In summary, the Iraqi Children Foundation’s work intersects with these Global Goals by addressing the critical needs of at-risk children in Iraq, from health and education to gender equality and social inclusion. Through its targeted programs, ICF is helping to create a better, more equitable future for children who need it the most.
