My Future My Choice

One of our many success stories! So proud of this beautiful young woman! Greetings and humble salutations, I am Rashera Nelson, a graduating senior at Bethune-Cookman University. I major in Psychology and plan to enroll in graduate school to get a masters in Social Work. I currently serve as the president for The Association of Black Psychologist Student Circle. I am less than 2 weeks shy of being done with school and I will be employed as a Case Manager for The Department of Children & Families in Volusia County. When I was younger, I participated in the first group of girls in My Future My Choice. I was an active member every year afterwards until I aged out. Being in MFMC was instrumental in my academic studies, personal life, and professional career. I was introduced to topics such as finance management, mental and physical fitness, college prep, and much more. My favorite activities with the group was our college tour, the annual thanksgiving food drive, and when we had guest speakers. Each experience in the group has helped me become the young lady that I am today. MFMC made me aware of the endless opportunities the world has to offer me and the ones I can make for myself. My decision to start "Shea By Shera" was well influenced by our workshops on entrepreneurship. My company focuses on producing body products that bring out a healthier you.
