YOU Life Skills and Leadership Educational Foundation is committed to creating highly competent teenagers and young adults by nurturing their identity and personal values and fostering their development into strong leaders within their communities. We do this by teaching each participant to: Lead Yourself: Participants develop the ability to lead themselves by valuing who they are and what makes them special and unique. They learn to make values-based decisions that affect change within their own lives. Reach Outward: By recognizing what motivates them about their own values and qualities, individuals can learn to respect and appreciate the differences in others. This instills a culture of mutual respect which leads to positive changes within families, schools, and communities. Understand the World around you: As individuals gain self-assurance, appreciate diversity, and collaborate with people from different backgrounds, they become equipped to identify the needs in their communities, comprehend those needs, and explore solutions. This empowers them to make a positive impact on the world around them.
YOU Life Skills and Leadership Education Foundation has partnered with the Nguzo Women and Youth Foundation in Moshi, Tanzania, Africa in an impactful philanthropic initiative aimed at fostering confidence in relationships/communication, promoting hygiene/reproductive health, and facilitating vocational/community development for youth. Our endeavor seeks to address the following challenges: ~High dropout rates exacerbated the stigmatization surrounding adolescent girls' menstruation cycles and widespread isolation in Tanzania ~Increased violence among students, limited opportunities for higher education, and decreased community engagement, which creates a lack of training programs and support. Our initiative aims to achieve the following objectives: ~ Education of over 5000 primary and secondary school adolescent girls and boys on sexual reproductive health, life skills, and anti-bullying tools through in-school programs. ~ Support for creating and distributing hygiene kits for adolescent girls in and out of schools in the Kilimanjaro Region. ~ Enhancement of existing sweater-weaving businesses to provide employment and school uniforms ~ Construction/renovation of the Nguzo Hub Building with Office Outlet and other premises, supporting the foundation's operational needs and community impact.
