Coming Home Project

I’m a retired special operations veteran. Over 20 years of duty, I experienced four tours to Afghanistan and three years in SE Asia. I’ve survived multiple enemy engagements, three IEDs, and other horrors of war. Worst of which is the loss of 7 close teammates and many associates. The plant medicine gathered all that was me and my experiences and sifted through it like dirty laundry. It lifted me, physically and spiritually, out of my mired self. I journeyed to the deepest parts of my being—without judgement—and found myself. My pure self. Without the pain. Without burden. I cannot explain it in a literal sense, but under all my problems I was a pure and beautiful being. The medicine opened the cage I was in and it freed me. As I continue to process the effects of the plant spirit, I can feel love and a passion for my life again. Mostly, a sense of purpose for myself, my family, and for my fellow man.
