Pledge to make a difference, together.
The AIDS Committee of Windsor (ACW) is a non-profit registered charity mandated to provide education and support services with regard to HIV/AIDS for Windsor-Essex, and Chatham-Kent counties. The ACW was established in 1985 by community volunteers, including those from the University of Windsor and the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit who were concerned about the lack of response to the new disease that seemed to be attacking the gay community.
The ACW has grown and expanded its services and educational opportunities, and is able to offer these services to the entire community. Supported by a dedicated staff of 14 and more than 150 volunteers, the organization reaches high-risk populations and the general public of Windsor-Essex, and more recently Chatham-Kent (with funds raised in those communities).
