We have a strong, consistent membership base, comprising individual craft artists (emerging, mid-career and established,craft guilds,arts organizations and supporters of craft throughout the province and some across the country and the US.
CCBC’s overall mandate of supporting contemporary craft in BC has 4 interlocking facets: support opportunities to further excellence in practice for craft artists; provide venues for the craft community to explore of the fusion of aesthetics, function and content; provide leadership in the craft sector through advocacy initiatives; promote the business practice of artists through our social enterprise programming; and provide educational opportunities with the general public to develop a deeper understanding of and appreciation for craft objects and the skill, knowledge and talent that creates them. All of the Council's activities are targeted to support our member’s practice and increase the audience for contemporary craft.
