Our Impact

A five year old developed severe brain damage during birth, as a result of prolonged labor. The damage in the brain affected several other body parts, including legs, hands and spine. The prescribed physiotherapy session to correct the anomalies proved to be an impossible order for the sickly HIV+ mother, who struggled to put food on the table. OFten times, they would go without meals, which adversely affected their health. However, since recruitment into the program, the child's health has dramatically improved due to consistent nutritional and medical support they get from the Children's Center. Further, the Center has coordinated and funded regular physiotherapy sessions to enable the child to gain normal body functioning. Visible improvements can be witnessed weekly!

Improve nutritional status of all children enrolled in program by providing Center lunches and supplementary bulk food 2. Improve health status of all children enrolled in program by providing access to medical and mental health care 3. Ensure children in program are enrolled and attend school 4. Ensure children's psycho social well-being by providing advocacy, relationship training and community bonding opportunities 5. Economically empower the guardians with income-generating activity trainings and supplies 6. Enhance household safety and shelter with building repairs, solar lanterns, bedding and other essentials
