Our Mission
St. Francis Center’s mission is to feed, serve, and walk with the poor as a community of hope in the spirit of Saint Francis of Assisi.
For 50 years, SFC has provided hunger relief and human services to homeless and extremely low-income families and individuals in Los Angeles. Our goal is to help our guests transition out of the cycle of poverty and provide tools to help sustain and improve their lives.

Our Impact

My name is P.S. (name redacted for privacy). I am a single mother of 5 children. I've been coming to SFC for around 5 years now. I've signed up my children to the art and cooking summer camps that SFC has provided for the past 2 years. My children really enjoyed being a part of those. Staff has been so helpful and kind all throughout my time visiting here. The pandemic has been a real challenge for me and my family. Being a single parent, trying to provide food and shelter to my 5 children during a pandemic was difficult. I had to be home because all my children were taking virtual classes. Food Stamps were not enough to cover all our grocery expenses. Then the entire family got covid. I have no family or close relatives here. I only had one close neighbor who would check up on me and my family. Coming to SFC to get diapers and food every week has been such a blessing to me and my family. *Permission was granted by guest to share story and photo.
