The Amanda Foundation

To rescue, restore to health, and place dogs and cats from shelters and find them loving new homes. To educate the public about responsible, compassionate pet guardianship while providing both pro bono and low-cost veterinary services for those who otherwise could not afford this care.

To end the needless suffering of felines in Kern County through rescue, adoption, community education, spay/neuter programs and food assistance programs. With compassion and commitment, volunteers work diligently to promote the value of too-often neglected felines.

Started in 2005, The Humane League, a national nonprofit organization, works to end the worst cruelties of modern factory farming and also encourages reduced meat consumption through public education, outreach, and corporate campaigns.

The Wildlife Society

Founded in 1937, the organization’s mission is “To inspire, empower, and enable wildlife professionals to sustain wildlife populations and habitats through science-based management and conservation.” The Wildlife Society enhances our members’ networking and learning opportunities, professional and career development and provides numerous ways for them to get more involved in creating a better future for wildlife and their habitats. Our more than 11,000 members include: -Scientists, managers, educators, technicians, planners, consultants, and others who manage, conserve, and study wildlife populations and habitats. -Students who are pursuing degrees and experience that will enable them to become the next generation of wildlife professionals. -Supporters who help spread the word and take action on important wildlife and habitat issues. TWS is an international organization committed to addressing national and international issues that affect the current and future status of wildlife in North America and throughout the world.
