Wild Horse Education

Wild Horse Education is a tiny, all-volunteer organization with a very strong track record in educating the public, media, other advocacy groups and managing agencies for changes in the way wild horses and burros are managed on public land. Our group photographs and documents current range conditions, prepares reports for inclusion in conversations dealing with government agencies to taking that documentation into a courtroom when other avenues for discussion fail. Wild Horse Education led the way in gaining an enforceable humane handling policy, reforming the way wild horse and burro populations are managed on the range (minimizing removal and managing on the range), improving the adoption program, as well as protecting wild horses and burros from slaughter.

Raptor Education Group, Inc is a 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of injured or orphaned native bird species and public education of wildlife issues. Our goals include creating a safe haven for injured wildlife while they heal and until they are ready to be released back into the wild, to develop protocol, rehabilitation methods, and husbandry based on the natural history of the bird to assure a successful release, and to create a broader understanding of native birds, their behavior and habitat needs among the public and the scientific community.

Impact Stories
Peregrine Fund

The Peregrine Fund's mission is to conserve birds of prey worldwide. The Peregrine Fund is responding to 21st century conservation challenges with a strategic plan based on the conviction of our founders—“we will succeed by using science to inform decisions and by not accepting failure as an option”—so that by the year 2050 we will have helped create a vision of success in which bird of prey populations and their ecosystems thrive; we have enriched the lives of local communities where we work and improved their future; we have earned the reputation and serve as global experts on birds of prey and their conservation; and raptors are valued by all humans. Our strategy stands upon three transformative outcomes: conservation, engagement, and capacity. Conservation will be achieved by preventing raptor extinctions, protecting areas of high raptor conservation value, and addressing landscape-level threats impacting multiple species. Engagement will be reached by inspiring people to value raptors and take action, serving as a catalyst for change, and investing in tomorrow’s conservation leaders. Capacity outcomes are centered on The Peregrine Fund’s capacity to apply our core values, promise, and guiding principles to complex conservation challenges. Capacity will be built by assembling the infrastructure, facilities and people, and raising sufficient funds to execute the actions needed to reach measurable, time-bound goals on an iterative five-year planning cycle.

Tivoli Fund

The Tivoli Fund supports organizations with a focus on improving lives. This fund will split donations evenly between No Dogs Left Behind, One Mission, World Central Kitchen, GLAD, and One Tree Planted. No Dogs Left Behind is a leader in global animal rescue. Through international alliances and local resources, we engage in every step of rescue. From emergency response to dog adoption, No Dogs Left Behind stands by our survivors every step of the way. One Mission programs make living in the hospital less lonely and stressful, bring back joy in a time of fear and uncertainty, and give kids and their loved ones the support they need to get through the emotional and financial challenges of treatment. World Central Kitchen uses the power of food to nourish communities and strengthen economies through times of crisis and beyond. Through strategic litigation, public policy advocacy, and education, GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) works in New England and nationally to create a just society free of discrimination based on gender identity and expression, HIV status, and sexual orientation. Shadows Fund

Shadow’s Fund is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to helping the most vulnerable shelter dogs. Senior dogs, dogs labelled as “pit bulls” and dogs with a treatable injury or illness are often passed over for adoption. We help these forgotten dogs find hope and 2nd chances. Our 3 core programs tackle the problem from every angle. Bright Beginnings is aimed at early intervention and prevention. The Take Me Home Project provides direct rescue and rehoming for shelter dogs. And, for those dogs that need a little extra help, the Sheltering Oak Sanctuary provides a safety net and safe haven. Whether out in the community, or at the sanctuary, Shadow’s Fund is always working to promote responsible and humane animal stewardship.

Joshua Fund

The Joshua Fund Dog Rescue saves dogs and puppies from high kill, overcrowded shelters across the US who are in danger of euthanasia. Our breed focus is Labrador Retrievers and Lab mixes. Our main base of operation is Lake Placid, NY and we have a satellite Team in Houston, Texas. We have rescued many dogs and puppies from many other states and placed them in pre-approved loving homes in the North. The only way we can continue our mission is with donations from people just like you. We don't receive any monetary help from government agencies or animal organizations. We strive to save as many dogs as we can. We place them into foster homes and treat the dogs for all medical needs until they are healthy, happy and cleared for travel to Lake Placid, NY for adoption.
