HS/SPCA of Nelson County exists to improve animal and public welfare by providing rescue, care, and adoption services for homeless companion animals. Our mission is to save animals' lives, to promote humane, responsible pet ownership, to protect animals from abuse and neglect, and to combat overpopulation through spay-neuter and trap-neuter-return programs, with the goal that no healthy or reasonably treatable, non-aggressive companion animal is euthanized in our service area

ARF saves dogs and cats who have run out of time at public shelters and brings people and animals together to enrich each others lives. ARF strives to create a world where every loving dog and cat has a home, where every lonely person has a companion animal, and where children learn to care.

The Ocean Cleanup is a non-profit organization developing advanced technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. The Ocean Cleanup has three core approaches to tackling plastic pollution: 1) Clean legacy ocean plastic - Since 2018, The Ocean Cleanup has deployed technologies to remove plastic that has accumulated in ocean garbage patches. It's current system (System 002) has removed more than 225,000 kg of plastic from The Great Pacific Garbage Patch. 2) Turn off the tap: The Ocean Cleanup also develops and deploys Interceptor technologies that prevent plastic from reaching the oceans via rivers, focusing on 1000 rivers that are responsible for 80% of riverine plastic pollution. To date, 19 Interceptor solutions have been deployed across 8 countries. 3) Research: In the process of understanding the problem, The Ocean Cleanup has become a global leader in field research on marine plastic pollution.

Oceana, the world's largest international organization focused exclusively on ocean conservation, was founded in 2001 by a group of leading foundations concerned that although the oceans constitute over 70 percent of the earth's surface, an extremely small percentage of environmental funding was dedicated to protecting them.  Oceana's campaigns are designed to change that by forcing clear, identifiable policy changes with real "in the water" results, usually in three to five years. Our international campaigns in North America, Europe, Chile, and Belize are focused on the actions agreed on by scientists throughout the world as necessary to preserve and restore marine life: Protect seafloor habitat from destructive bottom trawling; Set and enforce reasonable catch limits for commercial fishing; Stop subsidizing overcapacity in commercial fishing fleets; Stop marine pollution, particularly carbon dioxide emissions that are making the oceans more acidic; Oceana sets annual goals toward achieving specific changes and holds itself strictly accountable to its Board, funders, and supporters.  Since inception, Oceana has achieved dramatic success in protecting the world's oceans in targeted, practical ways.

Streetdog Foundation is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization dedicated to saving the lives of dogs and enriching the lives of people. Streetdog Foundation works to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home stray and abandoned dogs in the Mid-South area.

Toby's Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing resources and support to aid in the fight against canine epilepsy. Established in 2004, Toby's Foundation seeks to increase awareness of canine epilepsy and to help eliminate it by supporting the research to find a gene marker and develop a screening test for this disease.

The Petfinder Foundation works with shelters and rescue groups across the country North America to help prevent the euthanasia of adoptable pets.

Lange Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving impounded companion animals and preparing them for their journey to a new, safe, loving world.

TO PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELFARE OF HOMELESS, ABANDONED, AND ABUSED ANIMALS. THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES FOOD, SHELTER, MEDICAL TREATMENT, AND PHYSICAL SUPPORT AT THE SHELTER.
