Richmond Animal Welfare Foundation

Richmond Animal Welfare Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides resources to Richmond Animal Care & Control (RACC) to help increase adoptions and improve the quality of life of pets in its care. The foundation was established in 2005 after a study conducted by the Human Society of the United States (HSUS) determined Richmond Animal Care & Control may see an increase in animals when the Richmond SPCA became a limited admission/no-kill facility. RACC is the only open admission animal shelter in the city servicing over 3,000 animals per year that need immediate care.
