DOG RESCUEWith years of animal rescue and fostering experience between them, a group of friends recognized the need for a canine only rescue group in the Triad area. Consolidating their shared goal to help dogs of all breeds find the best possible home, while also matching adopters with their ideal companion, they joined forces to create a new rescue group. Stepping Stones Canine Rescue is a charitable and educational non-profit corporation, located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Our volunteers share an enthusiasm for dogs and support a mission to rescue, protect, provide sanctuary and ultimately find adoptive families for abandoned, stray and neglected dogs. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes where they are provided with an enormous amount of love and any medical attention needed to insure their best health before adoption. All dogs are evaluated for temperament and personality, helping us to place them in homes that are well suited to their needs and to the needs of their future family.

To protect and enhance the lives of stray and abandoned domestic dogs and cats in need, with the primary focus on the animals originating from within the City of San Juan Capistrano A commitment to the humane treatment and rehabilitation of these animals through appropriate temporary housing, training and medical care. A commitment to responding to the animals’ needs through humane efforts with sensitivity, compassion and technical skill. A commitment to pursue suitable adoptions into permanent homes that address and fulfill the animals’ current and future needs. To encourage and assist in appropriate medical care for all domestic animals, including altering to help reduce the number of stray and abandoned animals. A commitment to humane animal treatment education throughout the community and beyond. A commitment to provide obedience training, where necessary, behavior management, where necessary, and assessment and evaluation of adoptability of any animal in its care. A commitment to provide follow-up services and advice to adoptive families, should those families so request.

Buster Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and re-homing pit bulls and bully breed mixes. Through decades of cruelty, unethical breeding and irresponsible ownership, a once beloved family dog has now found itself the victim of discrimination and abuse, and a source of misdirected public fear.   We believe that every dog is an individual, deserving of a loving home, proper care, and a fair shake, regardless of breed. We hope our efforts lead to a better educated and more compassionate public.   The Buster Foundation is an ALL VOLUNTEER organization, and does not operate a shelter. All Buster dogs are cared for in foster homes by volunteers who commit their homes and free time to rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption efforts. We make every effort to have a volunteer respond to inquiries and questions within 72 hours. Rescue Animal Mp3 Project, founded by North Canton, Ohio veterinarian Pamela Fisher, DVM, is a unique program designed to enrich the lives of abandoned animals in Stark County shelters and across the US. Thirty hours of pet calming music is loaded onto Mp3 players and donated free-of-charge to shelters and rescue organizations. Playing soothing pet music promotes relaxation by creating a calming environment. Animals are better able to cope with the stress of shelter environments, and in turn, this improves their quality of life. Dogs and cats that are calm and well-behaved are much more desirable to adopt. This outcome is accomplished through educating rescue and shelter workers about the benefits of calming music and how it will help the health and well-being of the animals in their facilities. The evaluation feedback has shown that the music also has a calming effect on humans who work at the shelters and visit to adopt, cultivating calm treatment of the animals.

The purpose and goals of IEAS are to provide a permanent sanctuary for exotic animals that have been abused, abandoned, neglected, confiscated, or previously owned by people unwilling or unable to provide for these magnificent beings. Additionally, IEAS educates the public through school programs, tour lectures, support for conservation programs, and public appearances about the value and worth of these sensitive, intelligent and perceptive animals, so that their future, as an important part of our world, is insured. We are committed to strengthening and promoting conservation education and other avenues to foster conservation in which we can participate. Our major goal is to give the resident animals the best quality of life we can give them in captivity through our Emotional Enrichment Program, which deals with the emotional well-being of each individual animal and its individual emotional needs. We do this to fill the need to reduce stress and agitation, give each animal the best life it can have in captivity, and by understanding what is required to achieve that goal.

We mainly specialize in very old dachshunds pulled from shelters, puppy mill dachshunds, and severely disabled dachshunds that require ongoing medical care, We have blind and deaf, and 7 with IVDD and countless that have come here for hospice care. The sanctuary is run out of our home. The dogs have free run of our home. We have adopted out 41 some dogs and helped another 47 to the bridge in the last 10 years. We have tried to provide the best last chapter for these dogs so that when it is time to go to the bridge they have known love, they have been owned, they had a name, they have known the feel of a warm bed (mostly my bed). Each of our departed dogs were held in my arms as they passed and each one broke our hearts but we saw them through all the way to the end. This is the hardest part of rescue or any pet ownership and we are proud of all of our work.

The Mission of the Panhandle Humane Society is to provide a nurturing and fear-free environment for the community and its pets in our care utilizing the Five Freedoms model. The Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare: 1. Freedom from hunger and thirst by easy access to fresh, clean water and a diet to maintain health and vigor. 2. Freedom from discomfort by providing an appropriate environment, including shelter and a comfortable resting area. 3. Freedom from pain, injury, or disease by prevention or rapid diagnosis and treatment. 4. Freedom to express normal behavior by providing sufficient space, proper facilities and company of the animal's own kind. 5. Freedom from fear and distress by ensuring conditions and treatment which avoid mental suffering. The Five Freedoms were developed in a response to a 1965 UK Government report on livestock husbandry, and were formalized in a 1979 press statement by the UK Farm Animal Welfare Council. The Five Freedoms have been adopted by professional groups including veterinarians and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

SRC is an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit rescue organization with an average of 100 volunteers in all areas of assistance. This reputable organization has rescued over 4550 canines since our incorporation in June, 2003. Their primary purpose is help save homeless and endangered Schnauzers (Mini, Standard, or Giant plus other breeds of canines who are in desperate need of help) from abuse, neglect and/or euthanasia. Their policy is to assure each dog they rescue receives necessary medical care tailored to its needs from an SRC vet, and also be micro-chipped for its future protection. Once vetted, the rescue will spend a minimum of two weeks being evaluated in SRC's pre-qualified loving foster homes selected to assure that all its medical and emotional needs are met in preparation for adoption into a loving permanent approved applicant's home suitable to each one's specific needs. Each potential home is stringently investigated by vet references and home visits in order to assure it is well prepared to provide a stable environment for the remainder of the dog's lifetime.

For 60 years, the Upper Valley Humane Society has been compassionately connecting people and pets. Our vision is to achieve excellence in animal welfare through a progressive approach to humane sheltering, humane education, community engagement and support services. UVHS is proud to be at the forefront of a growing movement in animal welfare by serving our communities through care and resources for companion animals and families. Humane Animal Sheltering We accept homeless, abused and unwanted cats, dogs, kittens, puppies, bunnies and small animals (even an occasional iguana!) regardless of medical or behavioral condition. We contract with and provide stray services to 26 municipalities but also accept animals from outside of those areas. We provide shelter, medical care and behavioral support for every animal for however long it takes to find their forever home. We provide mental stimulation, socialization, exercise, improved nutrition, and a reduced stress environment for all animals in its care. To help ensure success with new adoptive families, we behaviorally evaluate every animal to determine the best home setting and tailor their shelter experience with an individualized behavior and training program designed to build specific skills and overcome particular challenges. Humane Education & Community Outreach We offer monthly low cost spay/neuter clinics for the community. We fight cruelty in New Hampshire and Vermont through education and by providing resources. We approach every situation individually and with compassion. We seek to educate rather than alienate. We engage the community through events, tours and in-school presentations. We offer obedience training, agility and more through partnerships with local dog trainers. Partnership in Humanity Program We offer free emergency boarding for victims of domestic violence, hospitalization or other crisis situations. We provide resources, including a free food shelf, to support people in caring for their pets. We share pet food and other resources with partner organizations like the Haven, Meals on Wheels and WISE. We partner with police, fire and emergency services to help people and pets during large-scale and personal disaster situations.

The Tivoli Fund supports organizations with a focus on improving lives. This fund will split donations evenly between No Dogs Left Behind, One Mission, World Central Kitchen, GLAD, and One Tree Planted. No Dogs Left Behind is a leader in global animal rescue. Through international alliances and local resources, we engage in every step of rescue. From emergency response to dog adoption, No Dogs Left Behind stands by our survivors every step of the way. One Mission programs make living in the hospital less lonely and stressful, bring back joy in a time of fear and uncertainty, and give kids and their loved ones the support they need to get through the emotional and financial challenges of treatment. World Central Kitchen uses the power of food to nourish communities and strengthen economies through times of crisis and beyond. Through strategic litigation, public policy advocacy, and education, GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) works in New England and nationally to create a just society free of discrimination based on gender identity and expression, HIV status, and sexual orientation. ONE TREE PLANTED A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION FOCUSED ON GLOBAL REFORESTATION

Seattle Dogs Homeless Program is a WA State 501c3 non-profit street outreach program and foster based dog rescue dedicated to animal welfare. Our street outreach program provides pets and their people living thru homelessness with food and supplies for both human and animal For dog owners seeking drugs/alcohol treatment or wanting to work access to free boarding. Aside from food our #1 need is vet care! Seattle Dogs has a mandatory spay and neuter policy for all animals needing vet care. We place a strong emphasis on helping to control the population and abuse from over breeding. We are also a foster based rescue for dogs that are abandoned, abused or owner surrender. Once healed, healthy, emotionally ready, their placed for adoption. We believe every pet living homelesss should have a voice, lots of love, good food and vet care. By helping people with the necessary supplies and support we empower them to feel better about themselves by meeting the needs of their pets. Seattle Dogs makes a difference 1 bag 1 paw at a time🐾

The corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes, and for the prevention of cruelty to animals, specifically promoting the well being of Brussels Griffons who have been or might be harmed, and including for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (or the corresponding section of any future Federal tax code). The purpose of the organization is to rescue Brussels Griffons which have been abandoned, lost or abused, or might otherwise be neglected or euthanized. It is the policy of the corporation to promote the humane treatment of Brussels Griffons and companion animals reasonably believed to be of substantially Brussels Griffon heritage by an authorized agent of the corporation. It is the policy of the corporation to provide humane care and treatment for all Brussels Griffons needing protection, to seek and to return lost Brussels Griffons to their owner, and to seek suitable homes for Brussels Griffons without owners. In its care and disposition of animals, National Brussels Griffon Rescue, Inc. shall provide veterinary care as needed, and shall spay or neuter each Brussels Griffon before placement. National Brussels Griffon Rescue, Inc. shall maintain and preferably exceed the minimum standards prescribed by The Humane Society of the United States.
