Our more than 11,000 members include: -Scientists, managers, educators, technicians, planners, consultants, and others who manage, conserve, and study wildlife populations and habitats. -Students who are pursuing degrees and experience that will enable them to become the next generation of wildlife professionals. -Supporters who help spread the word and take action on important wildlife and habitat issues. Through our Position Statements, you can learn more about our stance on important issues in the areas of wildlife health, biological diversity, habitats, harvesting and hunting, invasive species, energy development and climate change, and human dimensions.

The Devoted Barn

The Devoted Barn is an animal rescue and rehabilitation facility in Newport, Michigan.  We take in animals of all kinds from cruelty, neglect, and large scale hoarding cases. We help animals that are unowned and that need urgent medical attention.  We also have a large feral dog program.  These animals come to The Devoted Barn  to heal both physically and emotionally.   They learn to trust and love again, or for the first time, with the help of at risk youth and special needs adults who come to work at the barn.  In addition to helping the animals, our mission to teach compassion & empathy to others through working with our animals.

The Buster Foundation

Buster Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and re-homing pit bulls and bully breed mixes. Through decades of cruelty, unethical breeding and irresponsible ownership, a once beloved family dog has now found itself the victim of discrimination and abuse, and a source of misdirected public fear.   We believe that every dog is an individual, deserving of a loving home, proper care, and a fair shake, regardless of breed. We hope our efforts lead to a better educated and more compassionate public.   The Buster Foundation is an ALL VOLUNTEER organization, and does not operate a shelter. All Buster dogs are cared for in foster homes by volunteers who commit their homes and free time to rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption efforts. We make every effort to have a volunteer respond to inquiries and questions within 72 hours. Please be patient and do try again to reach us if you have not received a response within this time frame.

The Livestock Conservancy

The Livestock Conservancy was founded in 1977 to conserve rare breeds of cattle, horses, donkeys, sheep, goats, pigs, rabbits, chickens, ducks, geese, and turkeys. Today's rare breeds are quite different from the "factory farm" stocks, which are very productive but require intensive husbandry. The rare breeds retain survival qualities such as disease resistance, foraging efficiency, maternal abilities, and longevity, which make them a perfect fit for organic, grass-based, and humane sustainable agriculture. As well as being useful to farmers today, rare breeds represent the genetic diversity essential for domestic animals to adapt to changing environmental conditions in the future.
