Because a healthy planet is key to survival of all life, Point Blue is passionate about protecting birds and nature, and we champion actions to reduce the risks of climate change for wildlife and people. By working with a diverse array of organizations, we bring our conservation science priorities to the global stage. And through these partnerships, we’re able to then implement climate-smart conservation strategies crucial to sustaining a healthy planet
Their primary purpose is to rescue mistreated or homeless animals and place them in loving environments. They hope to bring about a significant change in the treatment of all animals through educational programs and by working closely with other rescue organizations and sanctuaries. Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation. No animal is expendable! They strive to give animals the safe and happy life they deserve.
They are a group of women (and a few men) dedicated to saving 1 dog at a time (typically, there are far more than 1). They are a foster based, volunteer group, who pulls “rescue only”, “high kill shelter” dogs at risk, and take on owner surrender dogs. The focus of our organization is the Larger Breeds, as they do not do well in kennels and shelters, often times shutting down and giving up, or a complete change in demeanor.
Friends of the Animal Community (FOAC) is a non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to meeting the medical and social needs of adoptable pets, providing the path to a loving forever home.
We are the Volunteers of the York County Animal Shelter. We do all of our work to benefit the dogs and cats at the shelter. We socialize, walk and groom the animals available for adoption.
A Kitten Place was formed as a completely volunteer based animal rescue organization, for the purpose of rescuing orphaned kittens and homeless cats in our nearby communities. We take the kittens into our homes, provide veterinary care and oftentimes critical care, food, shelter and socialization until the kittens reach an adoptable age. Once the kittens are vetted and sterilized, we find suitable homes for them either through social media postings or through in person adoption events.
Purrfect Haven Cat Rescue is a private not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) no-kill organization created in 2005 that improves cat welfare though education, adoption, medical and social rehabilitation, and spay and neuter.
Odd Man Inn helps as many animals as possible find safety, rehabilitation, socialization, and a forever home while giving them a voice as ambassadors for their own kind against imprisonment, abuse, and consumption.
The Positive Pit Bull is a 501(c)3 dedicated to advocating for the pit bull, rehabilitating ones who are in need and keeping as many as possible out of the shelters through education, positive training and socialization.
Happy Buddha Animal Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides veterinary care, safe harbor, socialization, and loving homes for as many abused, neglected, homeless, and/or unwanted animals as possible.
We use science to educate and protect. This is our mission. This is what drives us relentlessly forward. The challenges facing this critical apex predator are many, and seemingly overwhelming. More than 100 million are slaughtered every year for their fins. Climate change is dramatically disrupting the oceanic ecosystem and food chain. And mankind’s attitudes are indifferent at best; savage at worst. We believe science—rigorous, peer-reviewed, professional—can inform and guide governing bodies and society at large to conservation policies that ensure the sustainability of all shark species.
Our Mission is to rescue abandoned/shelter, abused, relinquished and at-risk dogs, cats, and horses. We spay/neuter, vaccinate, train, and socialize our rescue animals making them ready for adoption into qualified loving homes.
