It is the mission for the Animal Service Officers and volunteers to pursue a positive synergy and to serve the citizens and pets of The Colony. Animal Services is committed to saving each and every animal that comes into our care. Over the last few years, we have improved our live release rate to 97%. Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies (GRRR) is dedicated to the rescue, rehab & rehome of Golden Retrievers and Golden Retriever mixes. GRRR is mostly a volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that helps place unwanted, abandoned or surrendered Golden Retrievers and Golden mixes into safe, loving homes. We "never say no to a Golden in need".

The Humane Society for Greater Savannah envisions a community that understands, values and promotes the ways in which pets enrich our lives. Its mission is to better the lives of pets and people. The organization offers a range of programs/services, including: dog and cat adoptions, pet surrender services, low-cost spay/neuter, vaccine clinics, Nuzzle Buddies, Foster Program and a Volunteer Program.

Friends of the Aspen Animal Shelter (FAAS) promotes and provides for the welfare, care and health of animals. Through its leadership it will support the efforts of like-minded, community-based programs; educate the community on the care of animals.

The purpose of the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley shall be to promote the welfare of the animals within greater Washington County, Ohio in the following manner:​Provide a safe haven for stray, lost and /or abused animals through operating an animal shelter.Educate the Communities served by the Society on the need for humane care of animals, the need for animal population control, the relief of animal suffering, and the services offered by the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley.Investigate and prosecute complaints of animal abuse and neglect as permitted by the Ohio Revised Code.Provide for the adoption of animals by people who can demonstrate that they will provide care consistent with the purposes of the Society.
