The Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that seeks to protect Florida's iconic animals and plants and the lands and waters they need to survive. We operate in essence as a statewide community foundation for conservation, working with many public agencies, nonprofit organizations, businesses, foundations and individuals to maximize support for conservation and outdoor recreation and education. We work most closely with and support the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). Since our founding in 1994, we have raised and donated nearly $45 million for conservation and youth outdoor education and recreation.

The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada provides a lifelong home to donkeys and mules that have been neglected or abused, or that can no longer be cared for by their owners. The DSC provides a program in animal welfare education to school and community groups. In addition, the DSC has developed a Foster Farm Program wherein animals are placed in pairs on permanent loan at suitable farms. The Sanctuary Farm is open to the public on Wednesdays and Sundays, 10-4, May through October.

I have a 68 year old Blue Fronted Amazon that was literally beaten by the man that owned the bird before giving him to a woman that brought him here. He is currently being rehabilitated and will hopefully learn to trust men again. Friends of Megan Animal Rescue gives new hope to sick, neglected, and abandoned animals in Oaxaca, Mexico through rescue, medical attention, sterilization and socialization. We seek good homes for them once they've been given time to heal and are ready to begin anew. We also provide education on the proper and humane treatment of pets for new owners, as well as the community at large.
