Half Percent Project

The Half Percent Project was created to educate foundations and philanthropists on the plight of animals and the need to consider animal welfare as part of their giving portfolio. We help animal welfare organizations improve their structure, governance, and operations and obtain access to funds. We will provide the “playbook” to transformation and funds to support this. We want to encourage philanthropists and foundations to direct a half percent of their annual giving towards supporting animal welfare.

Doris Day Animal Foundation

The Doris Day Animal Foundation is a grant-giving organization funding other 503(c)(3) organizations that provide help to animals and the people who love them.

The specific objectives and purposes of the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation shall be to raise funds in support of the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter and its mission.

Animal Cancer Foundation

Animal Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to finding a cure for cancer by funding research in and increasing public awareness of comparative oncology, the study of naturally occurring cancers in pets and people. Currently, the organization is funding The Canine Cancer Genome Project sponsored by Blue Buffalo Foundation to map the genomes of the seven most common canine cancers and to place the datasets in the public domain for use by all cancer researchers.

North Carolina Zoological Society

The NC Zoological Society is a private, 501(c)3, non-profit organization that supports the conservation, education, research and recreation missions of the North Carolina Zoo. The NC Zoo Society funds Zoo programs that conserve wildlife, protect wild environments, conduct research and provide recreational experiences that strengthen the bonds between people and wildlife. The Society also funds Zoo programs that protect the well-being of animals that live in zoos or in the wild.

Wine To The Rescue

Wine To The Rescue works in the community to help shelters who do not receive enough funding to care for animals. In addition we work with Rescues to pull those animals most at risk in the shelters and fund the medical care. We also advocate for better laws to convict those who abuse animals, animal cruelty units that are accountable and education (spay/neuter, heartworm treatment and basic animal care requirements) in lower income communities.

New Animal Shelter for Uxbridge-Scugog
