We were founded in 2012 by a PTSD therapist and a dog trainer who saw a need to train and match service dogs with Veterans with PTSD - without a lengthy waiting list and without requiring the Veteran to pay between $20,000-30,000. We are a volunteer-based organization that adopts its dogs from local shelters, rescues, and our community. As of April 2022, we have certified over 50 Veteran/Service Dog teams since our beginning!

Helping Hands: Monkey Helpers For The Disabled

Helping Hands: Monkey Helpers was founded in 1979 to raise and train capuchin monkeys to provide daily in-home assistance to people living with spinal cord injuries or other mobility impairments. We are the only organization in the world that has trained capuchin monkeys to be service animals. Helping Hands learned that these little animals delivered more than just a willing set of nimble hands to their recipients. The monkeys provided companionship, joy, and the renewed sense of purpose that comes from taking responsibility for the health and well-being of another creature. Our mission is to provide: outstanding, ongoing support for our current recipients and their monkey helpers; a safe, healthy, fulfilling environment for post-service monkeys for the rest of their lives

It's current system (System 002) has removed more than 225,000 kg of plastic from The Great Pacific Garbage Patch. 2) Turn off the tap: The Ocean Cleanup also develops and deploys Interceptor technologies that prevent plastic from reaching the oceans via rivers, focusing on 1000 rivers that are responsible for 80% of riverine plastic pollution. To date, 19 Interceptor solutions have been deployed across 8 countries. 3) Research: In the process of understanding the problem, The Ocean Cleanup has become a global leader in field research on marine plastic pollution.
