Hopeful Tails Animal Rescue

THE PURPOSE OF HOPEFUL TAILS ANIMAL RESCUE IS TO: (A) RESCUE DOGS IN DANGER OF BEING EUTHANIZED AT HIGH KILL SHELTERS, (B) TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR DOGS THAT ARE SURRENDERED BY OWNERS THAT CAN NO LONGER CARE FOR THEM, (C) PROVIDE NECESSARY VETERINARY CARE WITH THE INCLUSION OF A SPAY OR NEUTER, (D) PROVIDE LOVING TEMPORARY CARE AT HOPEFUL TAILS AND WITH THE FOSTER PROGRAM, (E) PLACE RESCUED DOGS INTO WELL-MATCHED, CAREFULLY SELECTED, PERMANENT ADOPTIVE HOMES AND (F) SERVE AS A RESOURCE TO THE COMMUNITY AND ALL DOG OWNERS BY PROVIDING EDUCATION AND INFORMATION ON RESPONSIBLE DOG OWNERSHIP, INCLUDING THE IMPORTANCE OF SPAY OR NEUTER, POSITIVE BEHAVIOR TRAINING AND GOOD NUTRITION.

Mission Statement: To assist U.S. military veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI) as well as local shelter dogs by providing integrative service dog training and mental health support to veterans and their families.

Austin Dog Alliance

Since 2006, The Dog Alliance has been improving the lives of families and individuals through therapeutic programs which incorporate the powerful connection between dogs and humans. Key programs include: Hounds for Heroes is the service dog program of Austin Dog Alliance. In addition to being trained to be unobtrusive in public, our service dogs are trained to mitigate the symptoms of post-traumatic stress (PTS), anxiety and or depression. Each dogs performs a minimum of three tasks that enable their partner to lead a more "normal" life. The tasks are selected after extensive conversations with the adopter. S+CORE! (Students + Canines = Opportunities for Rewarding Employment) capitalizes on the relationship between canines and adults to build job skills to provide life-long employment options for adults with disabilities. Students who complete the 86-hour program are provided job placement and coaching as they transition to paid employment. The Bow Wow Reading Dogs program teaches reading skills to at-risk readers by providing highly trained dogs and their handlers to local elementary schools, every week of the school year. Pet therapy visits in nursing homes and hospitals. Over 145 pet therapy dog handlers and their dog partners visit more than 50 hospitals, nursing homes and hospices in the Austin area. In 2015, they provided more than 6,000 hours of volunteer service visiting the elderly and sick in our community.

Pets For Vets Washington Dc Metro Area Chapter

Pets for Vets Washington DC Metro rescues animals from area shelters and trains them to become Companion Animals for Veterans who may be challenged with an invisible injury such as PTSD or Traumatic Brain Injury. Saving the life of a homeless animal while significantly improving the wellbeing of an injured Veteran is an amazing way to give back to your community!

Warrior Freedom Service Dogs Inc.

WFSD is dedicated to providing free service canines to Veterans struggling from combat-related post traumatic stress while reconnecting them to the life they fought for.

Angels Wings Transport

Angel's Wings coordinates transport of displaced animals, medical patients in financial need and Military Veterans from an airport closest to the point of origination to an airport closest to the destination through the use of general aviation aircraft. By using private or corporate planes, we have the ability to fly into not only commercial airports, but also small local airstrips. There is never a fee to the sending or receiving organization. Angel's Wings arranges free air transportation on private aircraft in response to pet overpopulation, health care and other compelling human needs.

Canine Partners of the Rockies' mission is to positively impact the lives of Colorado residents with disabilities by placing highly skilled service dogs with individuals who have mobility limiting conditions and facility dogs with professionals who provide therapeutic services to people with disabilities. CaPR also is dedicated to educating the public about the role assistance dogs play in the lives of people with disabilities.
