Animal Friends - VA addresses, coordinates and provides aid and relief to abused animals and finds loving homes for those animals. We provide education during interviews and meet and greets on the care animals deserve and ensure through contracts that our animals will be taken care of after adoption.Our program raises consciousness about the cause of over population at animal shelters, the importance of spaying and neutering your pets and the benefits of good veterinarian care. We contribute to vetting and operational expenses at other animal shelters and assist by placing their pets into loving homes.We also offer volunteer opportunities which provides opportunities for involvement in said activities and programs in order to have a greater impact for change in the community.

Paws 4 Life AZ is a non-profit, no-kill, volunteer Animal rescue. We are dedicated to rescuing animals left homeless for whatever reason – dogs in public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation, animals given up by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect. We place animals in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing an animal into their homes and lives. Animals in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped and receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes.

It is especially important in our growing suburban and urban communities to increase significant associations connecting people and nature, especially where natural environments and natural experiences are less and less common. On a local level, the steady arrival of new residents to the Hampton Roads area is having a overwhelming impact on our wildlife and natural environment. As we accommodate this progression, it is essential that people who now call the Hampton Roads area home understand the sensitive balance of human and non-human populations, the affect we have on the natural environment, and the best ways in which we can coexist.

Minnesota-based K9s From Carrie is a leading 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the United States to shine light on mental health awareness through education and the pairing of individuals with dogs to help manage mental illness and reduce suicide. We believe people of all ages and backgrounds suffering from mental illness deserve respect and support rather than embarrassment and shame. Our primary objective is to provide support to people in mental health crisis by sponsoring the purchase and training of emotional support dogs. We do this by 1) pairing a physically and emotionally sound dog with individuals as well as sponsoring obedience and emotional support training to that dog, and by 2) sponsoring obedience and emotional support training for an existing dog belonging to an individual or family. K9s From Carrie also promotes mental health and suicide prevention awareness through events and speaking engagements.

For 40 years, the Bird Rescue Center’s purpose has been to assist the public in the rescue of injured, orphaned or ill wild birds. We are licensed by State and Federal Fish and Wildlife agencies (Permit #MB7074770) to treat and release these birds back into the wild. The Bird Rescue Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our offices and primary care facilities are located in Santa Rosa, California. Our service area includes the northern San Francisco Bay counties of Sonoma, Napa, Marin, Lake and Mendocino. Over 90% of our operating budget comes from memberships, grants and donations from local businesses and individuals, and 90% of our staffing hours are provided by volunteers. BRC has recently received awards and grants from the City of Santa Rosa and Sonoma County in support of our Education Program and organizational development. We depend on the efforts of our dedicated volunteers, and contributions from caring individuals.

We are the first open-admission, no-kill shelter in the country dedicated to preventing animal cruelty and overpopulation. not only do we steward animals, but the environment as well. our “green” shelter, known as the Dorothy and Roy Park Pet Adoption Center, was LEED- Certified Silver in 2004—the first shelter to achieve this status in the united States. our best practices in shelter operations and programs serve as effective examples for other shelters across the country striving to achieve no-kill status. We strive to foster a community in which the need for sheltering abandoned, neglected and homeless and abused animals is diminished; and we work ceaselessly to place medically and behaviorally healthy, treatable or manageable animals in loving homes. We provide leadership in cruelty investigation initiatives, educational outreach, and pet population control. We promote responsible pet stewardship by providing behavioral issues-counseling as needed for adopted animals and their owners, as well as behavior training for shelter dogs to increase adoption rates and ultimately nurture and enhance the human-animal bond.

Our dogs are vetted and cared for by our volunteers and fosters and we are committed to finding the right match for our adoptive families. We are an all-volunteer, foster home based, 501(c)(3) dog rescue organization based in southern California. We do not have a physical shelter. Instead, we operate primarily through our foster homes, online databases and at adoption events/expos.
