The mission of the Kindness Ranch is to provide a sanctuary and place of rehabilitation for animals who have been used in laboratory research while fostering compassion for all animals.Consistent with our mission, we work to rehabilitate our dogs and cats in a home-like environment. Cats and dogs at The Kindness Ranch live together with their human caretakers in spacious yurts specially designed to meet their needs. They receive round-the-clock care to help them adjust to their new lives.The Kindness Ranch also provides an adoption program for all the animals we can rehabilitate. Those who are too debilitated, old or ill to be placed in a loving home can remain on the ranch to live out their days, surrounded by caretakers and volunteers who put the animals’ well-being first.***Kindness Ranch IS a 501c3 non profit organization. Warrior Canine Connection is a pioneering organization that utilizes clinically based Canine Connection Therapy to empower returning combat Veterans who have sustained physical and psychological wounds while in service to our country. Based on the concept of Warriors helping Warriors, WCC's therapeutic service dog training program is designed to mitigate symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress and Traumatic Brain Injuries, while giving recovering Service Members and Veterans a sense of purpose, help in reintegrating back into their families and communities, and a potential career path as a service dog trainer. The program also produces highly skilled Warrior-trained service dogs that will provide years of mobility and social support to Veterans with disabilities.

We operate the first free national microchip registry to help reunite lost pets with their families. We match those in our county who need help, whether citizens, businesses, government entities, or other nonprofits, with volunteers to work on the help needed. We are not a social services agency, and the scope of the work needed has to fall within the guidelines set for our volunteer program. Some types of work needed by citizens are outside of the scope of our work, and we help these citizens find an agency where the client needs to qualify to receive help needed.We will offer our volunteers the opportunity to upload hours served on time sheets, for completed work, to be translated into points. These points can be accumulated and will be redeemable in the form of gifts, just like the Fetch program used for vendor receipt uploads. This program is currently being developed. Our purpose is to undertake rescue operations and to provide essential care for orphaned, stray, abused and special needs cats and dogs.Through rehabilitation, socialization, and adoption, we endeavor to provide a humane service to all animals that come into our care. Additionally, we generate awareness about the prevention of animal abuse and neglect as well as spay/neuter programs and their important effect on the dog and cat overpopulation crisis.Through the years our mission has evolved from just rescue and adoption to community service and educational programs to improve the quality of life to all of the NYC boroughs and Long Island.

Arkansas Paws in Prison is committed to rehabilitating inmates and giving rescue dogs a second chance at life by preparing them to be loving, obedient, adoptable pets. The Paws in Prison program pairs inmate trainers with rescue dogs for eight to ten weeks of obedience training and socialization in preparation for adoption. Prior to graduating from the program, each dog must pass the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen Ready test. Because the dogs are properly socialized and trained, their chances of adoption improve drastically, and the risk of being returned to a shelter for unruly behavior decreases significantly. Many of our program’s “graduates” have gone on to become therapy animals and service dogs, including the first water leak detection dog in North America. Paws in Prison collaborates with animal shelters and rescues throughout the state to advance its goal to reduce the number of dogs languishing in shelters and reduce the number of dogs euthanized each year in Arkansas. Since the program began in 2011, more than 2,400 dogs have been rescued, trained, and adopted by loving forever families. Additionally, Arkansas Paws in Prison strives to decrease recidivism rates by providing incarcerated individuals with the opportunity to give back to the community and acquire skills that support successful rehabilitation and re-entry into society. Over the years, Paws in Prison has continued to expand its capacity to fulfill the need for vocational training and rehabilitation programs for offenders. Male and female inmates at seven prison facilities throughout the state now have the opportunity to learn the vocational skill of dog training. Inmate trainers attend weekly professional training classes and maintain a daily journal of their dog’s progress, which improves their literacy and communication skills. In addition to employment skills, participants also gain interpersonal skills. The program teaches them responsibility, compassion, and to care for others. Many of the trainers are hired for animal-related jobs after parole. A number of released participants have dedicated their lives to saving animals and work for Paws in Prison’s partner rescues and shelters, and several have established successful careers as service dog trainers. One former inmate trainer now works in the prisons as a professional dog training instructor, teaching inmates in the program and serving as an example of what can be accomplished with hard work and dedication after incarceration. A Kitten Place was formed as a completely volunteer based animal rescue organization, for the purpose of rescuing orphaned kittens and homeless cats in our nearby communities. We take the kittens into our homes, provide veterinary care and oftentimes critical care, food, shelter and socialization until the kittens reach an adoptable age. Once the kittens are vetted and sterilized, we find suitable homes for them either through social media postings or through in person adoption events.

The Positive Pit Bull is a 501(c)3 dedicated to advocating for the pit bull, rehabilitating ones who are in need and keeping as many as possible out of the shelters through education, positive training and socialization.

Fosterlings is a small, but dedicated, 501(c)(3) non-profit kitten rescue based in Pottstown, PA. They provide new lives, new hopes, new dreams and unconditional love for abandoned, abused, or neglected kittens. They are a no kill, no cage rescue, which means that kittens remain with us until good homes are found, socialized in a home environment, with other cats.

The Parrot Rescue Center of Costa Rica is a 501(c)3, non profit rescue center that collaborates with the local Costa Rican Ministry of the Environment and Energy (MINAE). Their primary focus is to rescue, rehabilitate, and, whenever possible, release parrots that have been kept in captivity illegally. It is a pivotal goal of the PRC Mission to release as many birds as possible so that they can fly free. For those that are unable to be released, they provide a permanent, safe environment that fulfills their physical, mental and social needs.

Like all humane groups, MAGDRL is in the unique position of helping both humans and pets. In our case, the pets are Great Danes and mixed Dane dogs, and the people are all those who have or want the companionship of the breed or, often, just dogs in general. MAGDRL helps people to determine the right breed of dog for their lifestyle, find healthy and companionable Danes that fit their circumstances, find loving replacement homes for Danes they can no longer keep, become knowledgeable about the care and training of their Great Danes, resolve their Danes physical/behavioral problem, overcome the grief at the loss of their loved pet, and stretch their tax dollar by assuming the Dane burden from public shelters. MAGDRL helps Danes by providing for the rescue and care of those who have been abandoned, neglected, and/or abused by their previous owners, spay/neuter and provide medical treatment as necessary to return the Dane back to good health, supply training/socialization to ensure their adaptability to new, good homes, and work to place rescue Danes to people who provide secure, loving, and healthy homes.
