The mission of Blue Star Contemporary Art Museum is to inspire the creative genius in us all by nurturing artists in an innovative contemporary art museum. Developed from a grassroots event in July of 1986, Blue Star Contemporary Art Museum is the first and longest-running venue for contemporary art in San Antonio. The establishment of Blue Star as an exhibition space arose from the need to provide a platform for the work and ideas of local contemporary artists. In the years since its inception, Blue Star Contemporary has grown with the community, instigating positive change in both the art community and the community at large. The development of Blue Star Contemporary's exhibitions and educational programming has resulted in the social and economic revitalization of the surrounding Lavaca, King William, and South Town neighborhoods. The event that started it all in the summer of 1986 has developed into Contemporary Art Month, an annual event that now includes over fifty collaborating organizations, cultural centers, museums, and alternative spaces. Now in its twenty-eighth year, Blue Star continues to be an incubator for contemporary art in San Antonio, hosting over twenty exhibitions each year within its four on-site galleries and multiple offsite locations within the community. These exhibitions feature both emerging and world-renowned artists who hail both from the Alamo City and across the globe. Over 300,000 visitors each year experience contemporary art at Blue Star through exhibitions, the MOSAIC after-school education program, and community events, which is why Blue Star Contemporary stands firm in its commitment to inspire the creative genius in us all.

Created in early 2010, Music Empowers Foundation was established as a private foundation for the purpose of providing funding to nonprofit organizations that offer engaging and innovative music instruction to children in communities where music education either does not exist or is underdeveloped. Music Empowers Foundation is founded on the knowledge that music ignites children's creativity, fosters a sense of accomplishment and empowers them to achieve and succeed in all aspects of their lives.

Docomomo promotes the study, interpretation and protection of the architecture, landscape and urban design of the Modern Movement. It promotes the exchange of knowledge about this important legacy which extends from the planned city and the iconic monument to the house next door.

Rock to Recovery helps people heal and transform their lives through the powerful experience of writing, playing, and performing music as a group.

ISC serves our community through creating inspiring, accessible theater and bringing it to as wide an audience as possible. Our actions and our art are informed by the following beliefs: • Classic plays are our cultural legacy and, like all great art, they are a vital part of forming bonds both within our community as well as to the past. • Diversity within the production, as well as in the audience, creates stronger, more entertaining theatrical experiences. • The audience’s understanding and enjoyment of the theater experience is of paramount importance. • Great writing and skillful performances take precedence over the technical elements of contemporary theatre. • Dynamic speaking and innovative staging are the primary means of engaging the audience’s imagination. • Productions of classical plays should be readily available to all. • There is no greater cause than to expand current audiences and create future ones.

The mission of the Building Bridges Program is to advance relationships, increase understanding and reduce bias between Muslim and non-Muslim communities. The Building Bridges Program is an operating foundation of the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art. The mission of DDFIA is to improve the quality of people’s lives through the study, understanding and appreciation of Islamic arts and cultures.

Masterwork is dedicated to enriching and supporting the cultural life of the community through professional-level choral performances and the promotion of music education.

BuildaBridge is a non-profit 501(c)3 arts education and intervention organization. Our mission is to engage creative people and the transformative power of art making to bring hope and healing to children and their communities. BuildaBridge dedicates its resources to building the capacity of communities to fulfill this vision. BuildaBridge envisions a world where all are resilient, experience self-efficacy, and have a vision for their future.

Our Mission: To transport America’s Veterans to Washington, DC to visit those memorials dedicated to honor the service and sacrifices of themselves and their friends. Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices.
