We believe in treating mental health as a spectrum, focusing on wellness, prevention, and recovery in addition to illness. By recognizing the connection between mental and physical well-being, we strive to eliminate barriers to care and advocate for better environmental conditions. Through innovative programs promoting health literacy, equity, positive youth development, and self-care, we are creating a culture of support and healing. Join us in our mission to transform mental health care and make a lasting impact on underserved communities. Our mission is to empower and educate communities on mental health and wellness. We work to redefine mental health beyond illnesses and how we care for ourselves. We curate programs, digital content, and resources to promote health equity and normalize behavioral health care. STS partners with professionals and subject matter experts to change how we think and discuss mental health to drive more people to care and recovery. STS creates platforms for individuals with lived experiences to share and encourage others to prioritize mental wellness. WHAT WE DO Mental Health Literacy STS signature programs include Community Conversations, Self-Care Socials, Mental Wellness Seminars, and evidence-based training like Mental Health First Aid, Question Persuade & Refer, and Counseling on Access to Lethal Means. to eliminate mental health stigma, practice healthy coping strategies, and access behavioral health resource. We utilize media platforms, including podcasts and social media content to further expand mental health education. Positive Youth Development STS Youth Mental Wellness COPE Clinic & Silence the Shame University (STSU) offers workshops, self-care activities, and discussions for youth and young adults to learn about mental health, crisis signs, and coping skills. We support the Youth Advisory Council and Ambassador to build youth leaders and amplify their voices. Caregivers attend a Parent Café to raise resilient teens. STSU engages college students in prioritizing their well-being and supporting their peers in accessing behavioral health resources. Community Outreach & Engagement We promote the implementation of mental health awareness strategies, self-care activities, and community outreach to support vulnerable populations at-risk of behavioral health challenges. We promote whole health and mental wellness all while combatting discrimination and the shame associated with mental illness.
