Boone County Historical Society

Since our founding in 1924 we’ve been preserving Boone County’s history for its future generations. We collect, preserve and exhibit historic artifacts, records and artwork of the people of Boone County. The Boone County Historical Society is a non-profit organization that owns and operates its physical presence, the Boone County History & Culture Center. The Center consists of the Walters History Galleries, the Montminy Art Gallery, the Village at Boone Junction, The River-Horse Pavilion and the historic Maplewood House – Columbia’s most beloved 19th-century home.

The Book Truck

Every year, The Book Truck gives thousands of free books to foster care and low-income teens throughout Los Angeles. Our programming is designed to encourage even the most reluctant readers: we carry the books that teens want the most and staff our truck with a diverse group of trained teen volunteers who make informed book recommendations to their peers and help them select the "right" book. Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty by increasing literacy skills among underserved teens.

Music Meets Medicine

Music Meets Medicine is a non-profit organization that donates instruments and teaching time to teenagers being treated in children’s hospitals. The search for identity, independence, and accomplishment is frequently on the mind of teenagers. Unfortunately, prolonged treatment in children’s hospitals makes this search difficult, if not impossible. That’s where Music Meets Medicine steps in. Music Meets Medicine supplies these teenagers with free music lessons and makes instruments available 24/7. This gives them the opportunity to continue developing their identity, find some independence in a time of dependence, and achieve a sense of accomplishment.

Ypsilanti Community Choir

Mission A. To contribute positively to the musical environment of the area it serves, whether local, state, or national. B. To provide an organization is open to all post-high-school-age singers without audition. C. To provide free, public concerts. D. To educate and entertain area residents who attend YCC performances. E. To provide special concerts in conjunction with the Ypsilanti Community Band. F. To provide an opportunity for individual musical expression and growth among the membership. G. To reaffirm the roll of the community concert choir in American music.

Pen Parentis

Pen Parentis is a 501c3 literary nonprofit that provides resources to writers to help them stay on creative track after they start a family. Since 2009, Pen Parentis has offered free literary salons in NYC that shatter the stereotype of parent-writer and present the vast diversity of creative work written by writers who have children. Core values are COMMUNITY, PROFESSIONALISM, INCLUSION, and BALANCE, exemplified in our programs: the salons, an annual Fellowship for New Parentis, and many community-building smaller projects and special events.

Co Lab Theater Group

CO/LAB Theater Group is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing Creative Opportunities without Limits And Boundaries. CO/LAB exists to offer individuals with developmental disabilities a creative and social outlet through theater arts. We facilitate a safe and judgment-free environment, encouraging participants to collaborate together as an ensemble as well as discover their individual voices. The group promotes building self-esteem among participants and teaching artists alike. We seek to honor and celebrate the individual, transcending the label of a disability.

Old Songs

Old Songs, Inc. is a unique not-for-profit organization dedicated to serving the community by presenting traditional music and dance year-round through festivals, concerts, contra dances, classes, and other educational programs. Old Songs consists of volunteers and staff working together to create events that expose new audiences to traditional music and dance. We provide professional opportunity for artists by presenting new talent and known talent, local talent and international talent. Through fostering traditional music and dance in today's lives, this participatory artistic and cultural expression is kept alive for future generations.

Pigeons Projects Limited, trading as 100 Story Building

100 Story Building (100SB) is a unique organisation for young writers in Melbourne's inner West. We use storytelling as a tool to foster imagination and creativity in children and young people, and our impact is focussed on those with a lived experience of disadvantage or other barriers to education. We provide opportunities for these young people in our community to build the literacy skills, confidence and sense of belonging that are fundamental to future success. Our vision is to promote equity in education and life opportunities. Since 2013, we have worked with more than 45,000 participants to expand their imaginations, amplify their voices, and become the hero of their own stories.

Voices Of Eve N Angels (VOENA)

Unite the world and empower future leaders through music. VOENA Children’s Choir is a professional program, unique because of its no-audition policy. VOENA teaches children ages 5-18 ethnically diverse music, instilling in them an appreciation and enthusiasm for different languages and cultures while cultivating, what director Annabelle Marie calls, the VOENA BIG 3: 1) accept the challenge, 2) be self-motivated, and 3) embrace an ethic for hard work. VOENA participants sing music from many countries, all in the native language, promoting peace through the exchange of culture.

Norwalk Arts Society

Norwalk Arts Society, Inc. (“Corporation”) is organized exclusively for charitable arts and cultural purposes including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code. Its mission is to increase opportunities for all people to participate in, understand and enjoy the arts. To fulfill that mission, the Society will offer performing arts education and present performances reflecting the highest standards of excellence and diversity indicative of the world in which we live, and make those performances accessible to the broadest possible audience.

Western Pennsylvania Conservancy

The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy protects and restores exceptional places to provide our region with clean waters and healthy forests, wildlife and natural areas for the benefit of present and future generations. The Conservancy creates green spaces and gardens, contributing to the vitality of our cities and towns, and preserves Fallingwater, a symbol of people living in harmony with nature. Charity Navigator, an independent evaluator of charities, has recognized the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy as one of the top ten charities in the nation! Over the last decade, we have consistently received exceptional Charity Navigator ratings for financial health, accountability and transparency.

Our mission is to transform communities through innovative, child-centered learning that improves the trajectories of all children in Greater Houston. Goals aligned with this mission include: 1) providing child-centered learning experiences that are valued by families; 2) supporting parents’ confidence and skills as children’s first teachers; 3) advancing children’s learning to further grade-level readiness; 4) building partnerships to increase educational equity and reduce opportunity gaps; 5) furthering trust across communities through diversity, equity, inclusion and access; and 6) engaging with children to broaden their future career interests and options.
