A free and democratic press willing to explore the role of religion as an essential part of public life is one of the founding principles of The Media Project. The mission of 501c(3) organization includes helping journalists develop the skills needed to engage in an intellectually honest and critical approach to subjects related to religion, ethics and values to enrich and deepen coverage of religion -- regardless of the reporter's personal faith. Since it's founding, The Media Project has developed a worldwide network of journalists who often submit ideas for conferences and workshops most needed in the countries in which they live and work. The programs are open to journalists of all faith traditions.

The Laundromat Project brings art, artists, and arts programming into laundromats and other everyday spaces, thus amplifying the creativity that already exists within communities to build community networks, solve problems, and enhance our sense of ownership in the places where we live, work, and grow.

The Advocacy Project - A Voice for the Voiceless The Advocacy Project (AP) helps marginalized communities around the world take action against the root causes of their disempowerment in a way that benefits society as a whole and produces social change. To do this, we partner with community-based advocates who represent these communities and share their problems. Our support for partners is innovative and effective. First, we deploy Peace Fellows (experienced graduate students) to help partners tell their story, launch campaigns, and strengthen their organization: we have deployed 274 Peace Fellows since 2003, and in the process given our Fellows a unique experience. Second, we help partners to raise funds and manage their campaigns: we have raised over $2.5 million for partners, and are currently seeking funds through Global Giving for exciting projects in Nepal, Vietnam and Uganda. Third, we promote the work of partners internationally, using new methods of story-telling such as advocacy quilting: over 300 women have produced embroidered panels for our quilts, which have been shown throughout North America and Europe. Harmony Project uses the power of music to engage children from under-resourced communities. Our mission is designed to use music as a means to: -Promote children's healthy growth and development. -Foster safe and diverse communities. -Prepare children to excel in school and beyond. Founded in 2001, our program started with 36 students and now has an enrollment of 2,053 throughout LA County. Our ultimate purpose is to nurture the positive development of youth through high school graduation and into college.

Iris Music Project, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, reimagines residential and healthcare communities as spaces of creative exchange. Through collaboratively designed programming, Iris Music Project provides opportunities for connection and purpose for residents, caregivers, and musicians.

The Walden Woods Project was founded in 1990 to protect land of ecological and historic significance surrounding Walden Pond. At that time nearly half of the Walden Woods' 2,680 acres remained unprotected from development. Two large tracts of land (a total of 43 acres) were under immediate threat as developers sought to construct an office park and a large condominium complex in close proximity to Walden Pond. In January 1991, the Walden Woods Project raised enough money to buy the 25-acre Bear Garden Hill site. A few years later, the Project acquired a second parcel, known as Brister?s Hill. In 1998, the Walden Woods Project opened The Thoreau Institute at Walden Woods containing over 8,000 volumes and 60,000 items of Thoreau-related materials and launched its two trademark teacher education programs, Approaching Walden and Finding Walden.

The Bali Children's Project is a non-profit dedicated to education as a means of improving the lives of disadvantaged young people in Bali. It is founded on the belief that children, empowered to realize their potential, will enrich their own lives, their villages and the world that we all share. Bali Children's Project's programs include School Sponsorships for Children, Schools Renovations, Library Renovations, Sex and Health Awareness, Child Protection Workshops and more. The Bali Children's Project is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt non-profit charitable foundation registered in the USA (EIN 26-0014889) and in Indonesia (NPWP: 02.096. 823.903.000). The work of the BCP is wholly dependent upon the generous donations of individuals and organisations.

The Virginia Avenue Project empowers kids to think creatively, courageously and critically about life goals and choices by providing free, Writing and Performing Arts programming, in conjunction with long-term mentoring, throughout their growing years.
