The Museum Of The African Diaspora (Moad) Invites Everyone To Engage In The Cultural Expression Of The African Diaspora Through Contemporaryy Art. Moad Is Dedicated To Sharing The Art And Stories Of Our Common African Heritage With Audiences From Around The World.

The Museum of Prairiefire Foundation (Museum at Prairiefire) is committed to innovative learning in science, the arts and natural history. Through a founding collaboration with the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, as well as with other cultural and educational institutions in the nation, the Museum at Prairiefire is a place that provides ACCESS FOR ALL to understand and celebrate natural history and science in our region and around the world. The MAP engages visitors and students of all ages with world-class exhibitions, important programming, and provides significant educational and STEAM opportunities for underserved children through KC Urban Advantage.

The Wendell Gilley Museum inspires artistic creativity and engagement with the natural world on Mount Desert Island and Downeast Maine for current and future generations through education, exhibitions, and programs, while honoring the legacy of noted bird carver Wendell Gilley.

The Foundation's mission is to raise funds in support of Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum and the new land side National Medal of Honor Museum. Even though Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum is a State agency, it receives no appropriated funding and looks to Patriots Point Foundation for help with projects and other major needs outside of maintenance of the historic ships.

The Sankofa Children’s Museum of African Cultures, Inc. aims to educate, inspire and connect children from all walks of life to the vast physical and cultural diversity of the African continent. They want to promote world understanding through engagement with art, cultures, the geography and history of Africa’s myriad diversities and its many great contributions to society as a whole.

The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education inspires meaningful connections between people and nature. We use our forests and fields as a living laboratory to foster appreciation, deepen understanding, and encourage stewardship of the environment. As a leader in the next generation of environmental education, the Schuylkill Center will create a world where all people play, learn, and grow with nature as part of their everyday lives.

The Big Imagination Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We incubate bold, visionary projects that inspire the world to dream big. Our projects don’t fit into boxes. They rely on radical collaboration and community support. They provide opportunities for education and participation. They are experiences open to everyone. TO DEVELOP AND OPERATE A FACILITY/VENUE TO PRESERVE AND DISPLAY STEARMAN AIRCRAFT AND ARTIFACTS FOR HISTORICAL RESEARCH AND PUBLIC EDUCATION. IN ADDITION, PROVIDE FUNDING FOR THE ANNUAL STEARMAN FLY-IN AND THUS PROMOTE INTEREST IN YOUTH AND ADULTS ABOUT STEARMAN AIRCRAFT.

The Carriage Museum of America, located at the Kentucky Horse Park, is an educational institution which functions primarily as a research library dedicated to preserving the history of the carriage era. The CMA Library maintains a collection of approximately 1,500 books and trade catalogs, in addition to a large collection of prints, photographs, carriage blueprints, trade journals, and other resources. The CMA exists to use its world-class library and panel of experts to serve the carriage community.

The Museum of Fine Arts houses and preserves preeminent collections and aspires to serve a wide variety of people through direct encounters with works of art. The Museum aims for the highest standards of quality in all its endeavors. It serves as a resource for both those who are already familiar with art and those for whom art is a new experience. Through exhibitions, programs, research, and publications, the Museum documents and interprets its own collections. It provides information and perspective on art through time and throughout the world.

They are working towards the goal of raising enough funding to erect a building to house the City of Owosso’s First Motorized Pumper, a 1921 American LaFrance Pumper (shown above) as a monument dedicated to the firefighters of Shiawassee County that have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. This memorial will also serve as a museum celebrating the rich history of firefighting in Shiawassee County.
