Mission The Dixfield Historical Society is a non-profit 501-c3 corporation whose purpose is to collect and preserve artifacts and data from Dixfield’s past, protect current historical materials and promote through education the desire for future generations to honor and respect their heritage.

The National WASP WWII Museum is dedicated to honoring the life and legacy of the Women Airforce Service Pilots. Our mission is to educate and inspire all generations with the story of the WASP—the first women to fly America's military aircraft—who forever changed the role of women in aviation.

The Children's Discovery Museum of Central Maine has a mission to ignite curiosity and celebrate learning through play. The Museum is not yet open to the public, but we are working hard to finalize the design and fabrication of our brand new space. We can't wait for you to come and play!

The mission of the 16th Regiment, South Carolina Volunteers, Museum of Confederate History, is to protect, preserve and defend the memory, history and heritage of the two hundred fifty thousand (250,000) gallant Confederate soldiers who gave their lives during the War Between the States. In fact the Museum will honor all those who served the cause of the Confederate States of America. Foremost is the duty to provide a true and accurate historical perspective of the War period in an educational manner and to preserve the cultural heritage and artifacts of the South. Central to this mission of education is the development and maintenance of an extensive research library in conjunction with the Museum. This library will be available without cost to the public for genealogical research as well as research on the War and related issues. The Museum Board of Directors welcomes all who search for the TRUTH.

The mission of the Museum is to support and promote public interest, awareness, knowledge and education within the visual arts in Southern California. To this end, the Corporation shall, among other things, develop and maintain a collection of original works of art of the highest artistic merit dedicated to preserving the timeless art of storytelling within a uniquely creative museum environment.

The New Children's Museum is a new model of children's museum whose mission is to stimulate imagination, creativity and critical thinking in children and families through inventive and engaging experiences with contemporary art. We encourage and empower children to think, play and create through interactive exhibitions, engaging art-making activities, captivating artistic performances and education opportunities.

The mission of Kansas Children's Discovery Center is to enhance the lives of children and enriches the communities it serves. Kansas Children’s Discovery Center strives to offer a safe, welcoming environment offering high-quality hands-on experiences that inspire a lifelong love of learning for every child. We aspire to be a community anchor and a statewide leader among supporters of all children.

The Foundation's mission is to raise funds in support of Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum and the new land side National Medal of Honor Museum. Even though Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum is a State agency, it receives no appropriated funding and looks to Patriots Point Foundation for help with projects and other major needs outside of maintenance of the historic ships.

THE MISSION OF THE ILLINOIS RAILWAY MUSEUM IS TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC AS TO OUR NATION'S RAILROAD AND RAILWAY HISTORY BY COLLECTING, PRESERVING, AND RESTORING ROLLING STOCK, ARTIFACTS, STRUCTURES, AND RELATED TRANSPORTATION EQUIPMENT FOR DISPLAY TO THE PUBLIC; EXHIBITING AND OPERATING RESTORED ROLLING STOCK AND EQUIPMENT ON A DEMONSTRATION RAIL LINE; AND COLLECTING, PRESERVING, AND MAINTAINING A REFERENCE LIBRARY OF PUBLICATIONS, TECHNICAL INFORMATION, AND OTHER MATERIALS REGARDING RAILROADS, RAILWAYS, AND RELATED FORMS OF TRANSPORTATION FOR RESEARCH AND OTHER PURPOSES.

The New England Aquarium combines education, entertainment and action to address the most challenging problems facing the oceans. We aim to create a new generation of ocean stewards, while providing regional, national and global leadership in marine conservation. The New England Aquarium is the only Boston-based cultural institution with a mission focused primarily on the environment, promoting the importance of protecting the blue planet through innovative exhibits and educational programs

It is the mission of the Parsonsfield-Porter Historical Society to collect and preserve artifacts, photographs, documents and publications of historical significance that relate directory to the history of Parsonsfield, Porter and South Hiram, Maine – including the village of Kezar Falls; to preserve and make available for research the genealogical records of families from the area; to encourage the love and study of local history in the youth of the area; to encourage the preservation of historical sites and structures; and to discover and disseminate local history, legend and lore so that succeeding generations may benefit from a better understanding of their past.
