Founded in New York City in 1966, the mission of the Paul Taylor Dance Foundation is to cultivate, promote and encourage understanding of and public interest in the arts through performances of the choreographic work of Paul Taylor. In 2014, the Foundation expanded its mission with the launch of Paul Taylor American Modern Dance, building upon the past to transform the Foundation into an institutional center for American modern dance. Mission: To become a place where the upcoming generation of contemporary choreographers is nurtured and showcased, where the masterwork of the genre's great pioneers is preserved and presented, and where the American modern dance idiom is presented to large audiences to be experienced and celebrated.
