The Oxford Film Festival celebrates the art of independent cinema. Through year round programming, the festival works to encourage filmmaking in Oxford and North Mississippi while growing understanding of cinema through screenings, workshops and educational programs, culminating in the annual five day festival.

Skeptoid Media produces free educational materials and STEM-focused informational and entertainment content, made available to educators and individuals worldwide, concentrating on critical thinking and scientific skepticism. STEM literacy is important — Skeptoid Media believes it can also be fun.

Milkweed Editions works to identify, nurture and publish transformative literature, and build an engaged community around it. We publish distinctive voices of literary merit, exploring the ethical, cultural and esthetic issues that societies continually need to address. Milkweed publishes fiction, poetry, nonfiction about the natural world, and fiction for young readers.

Graywolf Press is dedicated to the creation and promotion of thoughtful and imaginative contemporary literature essential to a vital and diverse culture. 

Public Radio International's mission is to serve audiences with distinctive programming that provides information, insights, and cultural experiences essential to understanding a diverse, interdependent world.

Prairie Public Broadcasting, Inc., provides quality television, radio and public media services that educate, involve, and inspire the people of the prairie region.

It is my belief that within St. Louis there are scores of filmmakers with a passion and skill to produce quality and relevant films. Rather than allow a “brain drain” of emerging and talented filmmakers, editors, producers, cinematographers, sound and lighting technicians to find greener pastures it is the hope and belief that by opportunities and funding, St. Louis can become a community that produces ground breaking and innovative filmmakers.
