Our mission is to strengthen disaster response in America by rescuing and recruiting dogs and partnering them with firefighters and other first responders to find people buried alive in the wreckage of disasters. Since our inception in 1996, SDF has trained over 231 teams in California, Florida, Nebraska, New York, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Baja California who have responded to over 200 disasters across the US and internationally. Rescue Express reduces animal euthanasia on a large scale by transporting thousands of animals each year, free-of-charge, from areas significantly impacted by pet over-population to rescue organizations who find them homes.
