One World Strong’s mission is to establish a vibrant international community of survivors of terrorism, hate crimes, or traumatic events that provides peer-to-peer hope, support and mentorship to anyone impacted by these events.

Our mission is to strengthen disaster response in America by rescuing and recruiting dogs and partnering them with firefighters and other first responders to find people buried alive in the wreckage of disasters. Since our inception in 1996, SDF has trained over 231 teams in California, Florida, Nebraska, New York, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Baja California who have responded to over 200 disasters across the US and internationally. It was the year 1978, when our founder, Anuben Thakkar, ventured into a virtually uncharted territory with nothing but divine inspiration from her Guru, Muni Maharaj. She set up a small hut at Goraj, with the noble vision to serve the local tribal communities with proper health, and education facilities.
