Thank you for supporting Chris Harrison's #GroupDateReliefFund, which will be splitting donations evenly between Direct Relief and American Nurses Foundation in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Direct Relief works in the U.S. and internationally to equip doctors and nurses with life-saving medical resources to care for the world's most vulnerable people. For COVID-19, Direct Relief is donating urgently needed medical aid to U.S. hospitals, including N95 masks and other personal protective equipment (PPE), as well as oxygen concentrators. The aid group is also working closely with state and county public agencies that are mobilizing medical resources. American Nurses Foundation Nurses are on the frontlines of the COVID-19 response. We have created a Coronavirus Response Fund for Nurses to enable the public to support and thank nurses. The national fund focuses on: - Providing direct assistance to nurses - Supporting the mental health of nurses – today and in the future - Ensuring nurses everywhere have access to the latest science-based information to protect themselves, prevent infection, and care for those in need - Driving the national advocacy focused on nurses and patients

FoodShare Toronto

FoodShare develops innovative programs and education to improve access to affordable and healthy food, reaching over 159,000 children and adults every single month. We take a long-term approach to hunger and food issues, working to empower individuals, families and communities through food-based initiatives “from field to table.” FoodShare mentors communities in drawing on their own strengths to adapt and grow tools and scalable solutions so that our work is leveraged exponentially. Our programs include Student Nutrition, Field to Table Schools, the Good Food Café (healthy cafeteria), Focus on Food youth internships, the Good Food Box, Mobile and Good Food Markets, Fresh Produce for Schools, School Grown, Community Kitchens, the FoodLink Hotline, Power Soups, Community Gardening, Composting, Beekeeping, School Grown, and Urban Agriculture.

The Food Bank of Waterloo Region

In the past year, The Food Bank of Waterloo Region, assisted approximately 28,000 neighbours in Waterloo Region. Yearly, The Food Bank distributes over 3 million pounds of food to community individuals who are facing challenging circumstances. Food is distributed through a partnership of 76 member agencies and community programs which provide emergency food hampers and meals. THE DONKEY SANCTUARY OF CANADA

The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada provides a lifelong home to donkeys and mules that have been neglected or abused, or that can no longer be cared for by their owners. The DSC provides a program in animal welfare education to school and community groups. In addition, the DSC has developed a Foster Farm Program wherein animals are placed in pairs on permanent loan at suitable farms. The Sanctuary Farm is open to the public on Wednesdays and Sundays, 10-4, May through October.

Toronto Humane Society

Our mission at The Toronto Humane Society is to promote the humane care and protection of all animals and to prevent cruelty and suffering. The day-to-day operation of the THS involves the direct handling of lost, abandoned, unwanted and injured pets. In any given year, approximately 10,000 animals pass through the shelter, which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The injured receive veterinary care; abandoned animals are given a safe haven. Immature and injured animals are placed in foster care until they are strong enough to be placed for adoption. The Toronto Humane Society is supported solely by individual and corporate donations - we do not receive government funding of any kind.

Cornerstone Housing for Women

Annually over 1,000 women are homeless in Ottawa - Cornerstone provides shelter for over 400 women, serves over 140,160 nutritious meals and provides supportive housing for 68 women, many of whom are seniors. In addition, in 2011 Cornerstone secured permanent housing for 154 women; 65 women were enrolled in computer training, employment preparation and life skills courses. Our services are offered in an environment which promtes dignity and hope.
