The Kanata Food Cupboard is a non-profit charitable organization, with any profits or assets realized from its operation being used for the sole purpose of promoting its objectives. Services are provided to all residents of the community, regardless of race, ethnicity, ability, age, sexual orientation, income or religion. The organization is non-sectarian, non-denominational, non-partisan, working for the best interests of its members and clients.

Special Olympics Ontario provides athletes with an intellectual disability the opportunity to experience and succeed in sport. Special Olympics' athletes gain self-confidence and transfer the success from the playing field to become more active citizens in society.

FoodShare develops innovative programs and education to improve access to affordable and healthy food, reaching over 159,000 children and adults every single month. We take a long-term approach to hunger and food issues, working to empower individuals, families and communities through food-based initiatives “from field to table.” FoodShare mentors communities in drawing on their own strengths to adapt and grow tools and scalable solutions so that our work is leveraged exponentially. Our programs include Student Nutrition, Field to Table Schools, the Good Food Café (healthy cafeteria), Focus on Food youth internships, the Good Food Box, Mobile and Good Food Markets, Fresh Produce for Schools, School Grown, Community Kitchens, the FoodLink Hotline, Power Soups, Community Gardening, Composting, Beekeeping, School Grown, and Urban Agriculture.

In the past year, The Food Bank of Waterloo Region, assisted approximately 28,000 neighbours in Waterloo Region. Yearly, The Food Bank distributes over 3 million pounds of food to community individuals who are facing challenging circumstances. Food is distributed through a partnership of 76 member agencies and community programs which provide emergency food hampers and meals. Our mission at The Toronto Humane Society is to promote the humane care and protection of all animals and to prevent cruelty and suffering. The day-to-day operation of the THS involves the direct handling of lost, abandoned, unwanted and injured pets. In any given year, approximately 10,000 animals pass through the shelter, which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The injured receive veterinary care; abandoned animals are given a safe haven. Immature and injured animals are placed in foster care until they are strong enough to be placed for adoption. The Toronto Humane Society is supported solely by individual and corporate donations - we do not receive government funding of any kind.

Annually over 1,000 women are homeless in Ottawa - Cornerstone provides shelter for over 400 women, serves over 140,160 nutritious meals and provides supportive housing for 68 women, many of whom are seniors. In addition, in 2011 Cornerstone secured permanent housing for 154 women; 65 women were enrolled in computer training, employment preparation and life skills courses. Our services are offered in an environment which promtes dignity and hope.

Inspired by the ideals and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi, Child Haven International was founded in 1985. We assist children and women in several countries, who are in need of food, education, health care, shelter and clothing, emotional and moral support.

The Friends of Algonquin Park was established in 1983 as a non profit registered charity. The Friends operate as a cooperating association under an agreement with the Ontario Parks to enhance the educational and interpretive programs in Algonquin Park. This is accomplished by developing and reprinting Park-related publications, and funding Park projects through the proceeds from sales at The Friends' two bookstores in the Park, private donations, and various fundraising efforts. The activities of The Friends of Algonquin are coordinated by a volunteer Board of Directors who reside in different parts of Ontario. Since its establishment, The Friends has grown to a membership of over 3000 people, and continues to attract support from around the world.

Scarborough Women's Centre provides information, education and support to women in transition away from abuse, isolation and poverty, towards economic and emotional independence. The Centre was recognized with the City of Toronto Mayor's Community Safety Award for its work with abused women and their children. Women from many different backgrounds, enrich each other through their experiences. Here are some examples of what your donation can do: $50 - one woman builds her self confidence through an 8 week group $150 - 12 women learn to improve their health through a special workshop $200 -two volunteers train as mentors with women in transition $500.00 – one woman supported to achieve her goal to leave abuse through 3 months of counselling $1,000 - 20 women develop personal strategies for success through an 8 week course The Centre raises 1/2 of its income from fundraising activities.
