Discovery House is a second stage shelter established to address the social issue of family violence in Calgary. We provide long-term shelter, intervention, education and professional counselling for families who are victims of abuse. Our goal is that families have an increased capacity and support for living a safe and harmonious life in the community. We achieve this by restoring self-esteem, teaching strategies for personal safety, and developing problem-solving skills with our residential and outreach clients.

San Francisco Firefighters Cancer Prevention Foundation (SFFCPF) is committed to the prevention and early detection of cancer and providing access to cutting edge care for active and retired members of the San Francisco Fire Department and their families. Our goals are based on scientific research, education, cancer screenings and health navigation. Through this research and advocacy, we aim to improve public health and end this threat of job-related cancer in the firefighting profession.
The main goal of the Jasper Ray Foundation is to share the story of Jasper Ray St. Clair to educate others in the community about their role in identifying and reducing risks of drowning. Jasper Ray St. Clair drowned in the care of a babysitter when she took him without permission from his safe environment to a home with an ungated pool. Jasper Ray Foundation goal is to ensure this does not happen to another family by bringing awareness and education to caretakers and homeowners about drowning prevention. Drowning is 100% preventable and together we can live in communities where no children drown.
The BC SPCA is a provincial non-profit organization funded primarily by public donations. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and to promote the welfare of animals through a wide range of services, including cruelty investigations, emergency rescue and treatment, sheltering and adoption of homeless and abused animals, humane education, advocacy, farm animal welfare, spay/neuter programs, and wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.
