The Holy Woman Foundation was founded to raise funds for needy Jewish children in Jerusalem. Currently, our foundation provides hot lunches and enrichment programming for little girls, aged 6-14, enrolled in Ohr Batya in the Vucharian section of Jerusalem. All of our girls come from dysfunctional and impoverished homes. The school is for "throw-away" girls who would not be accepted elsewhere because of their unstable family backgrounds (mother mentally ill, father in jail, father has abandoned family, etc.). The school day ends at 1 pm, and then the girls go home to. . . . . nothing. Rebbetzin Esther Ben Chaim (see chapter 13 of the bestseller, Holy Woman), the principal of the school, has been able to start an afternoon program since receiving funds from the Holy Woman Foundation. This program gives the girls a hot lunch (their only protein meal of the day‚ and for many their only meal of the day), plus art, music, computer science, field trips, big sisters, tutoring and psychotherapy when needed. None of these things are provided by the government curriculum. Rebbetzin Chaya Sara Kramer, the Holy Woman, blessed this school. The Holy Woman Foundation, created in her memory, seeks to perpetuate the devoted caring for needy Jewish children to which she dedicated her life.

OBAT Helpers works for the welfare, support, and rehabilitation of displaced and stateless people by providing programs to alleviate the daily suffering and burdens of thousands of Urdu speaking people (known as "Biharis") who are stranded in makeshift camps in Bangladesh. OBAT Helpers implements projects in education and vocational training, self- empowerment through micro-financing, health care with clinics, drinking water, proper sewerage, and emergency relief projects. The Biharis have been stranded in Bangladesh since it achieved independence from Pakistan in 1971. Referred to as, astranded Pakistanis,a this community was supposed to be repatriated to Pakistan after the two countries separated but most of them could not due to political complications. They are presently citizens of nowhere, unclaimed by either country and marked by the UNHCR as refugees, yet deprived of the rights of refugees. They still live in the camps/slums that were supposed to serve as their temporary shelter forty years ago. This population is scattered across sixty-six camps which house around 300,000 people. Anyone visiting these camps would see a family of 7-10 people sharing a living space of 8x10 ft.; open sewers and overflowing drains; a single toilet or two for one hundred or so people; innocent six or seven year olds who should be in schools, working for a living; high-infant mortality rates due to absence of medical facilities; lack of clean drinking water; terrible or no sanitation facilities and nothing but abject poverty. OBAT Helpers is the only organization in North America which is committed to helping the Biharis to become self-reliant and empowered through proper education, health care and micro financing projects. OBAT started with providing help to one camp in 2004, and now, it is improving the lives of people in more than 30 out of the total 66 camps, after just six years. This is almost half of the total number of camps in Bangladesh.

Helping Hearts Helping Hands is a family based non-profit organization, founded in 2007. Changing the world, one child, one family, one face, one place...at a time! Helping Hearts Helping Hands does mission work, spreading the word of God, in Honduras. The purpose of our mission work is to change the lives of poverty stricken children and families. We provide immediate assistance by delivering food, fresh water, clothing, shoes, vitamins and other needed items to different villages in Honduras. We deliver personal care items and provide instruction on self-care, dental care, health, and nutrition. We are helping families to establish businesses that will provide a source of income and help them to be self-sufficient. We are currently raising two beautiful girls at our foster care home in Honduras.

Dembi Dollo Hospital Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization dedicated to actively promoting the recovery of unused medical supplies for the purpose of Global aid, waste reduction, and cost-effectiveness. We are directed to improve healthcare in Africa. Dembi Dollo Hospital Foundation and partners work together with a shared purpose to provide critical medical supplies, equipment and training to hospitals in rural Africa. Our vision is to supply hospitals throughout rural Africa with medical necessities and training until such time they are self-sustaining. We are focussed on creating a community in which all people achieve their full potential for health and well-being across the life-span. Dembi Dollo believes that patients deserve to have timely access to healthcare and that our systems should reflect this value. Our mission is to provide educational services to people who are in need in Shelby County. Re-entry reporting is a separate component that we offer to inmates at the Shelby County Government: Divisions of Corrections before exiting the compound. Our goal is to empower and serve the greater good in Shelby County but are not limited to the needs of our city. We are investing in the citizens of Shelby County, City of Memphis and our next generation of youth and adult leaders. Our focus is helping families, the homeless, inmates incarcerated, and newly exiting offender population in need. We provide support, transitional services, staffing, operations, and management for Cooling/Warming Centers, Emergency aid and short term shelter options. Efforts are successful with community partners, sponsors, grants, fundraising, donations, food drives, coat drives, clothing, gently used furniture and so forth. We promote self-sufficiency, health & wellness, educational and advocacy programs. LHTF operates under four key values: Respect, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence.

Omnis Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring communities in crises by establishing health and education programs founded on social responsibility. Our goal is to provide resources necessary for sustainable growth. We believe that the best way to unlock one’s potential is through creating an environment that encourages progress. We started our work in Ukraine to address the immediate humanitarian needs of the families and children affected by unrest in the eastern part of the country. Our short-term initiatives focused on supplying emergency medical aid and organizing educational workshops for physicians to set higher standards for the treatment of the wounded. Our long-term initiatives include projects that provide underprivileged children and youth with access to better education and empower them to realize their full potential. As Omnis Foundation continues to grow and establish itself, we are partnering with the global community to develop and implement programs that help societies overcome challenges they face today. We aspire to equip people with necessary supplies and skills, which will prepare them to take on future adversities that current social, political and economic climates might bring.

Our mission is to promote dignity, community, and self-sufficiency by working with marginalized populations in rural Honduras on a long-term basis, facilitating access to health care, education, and livable wages. Our comprehensive approach to grassroots community development promotes local traditions, encourages community leadership, and emphasizes collective ownership. Un Mundo seeks to improve the present and future socio-economic conditions and the quality of life of the families in rural Honduras who are living in extreme poverty by providing them with tools and resources to be self-sufficient and unified. Our work began from spontaneous relief actions after Hurricane Mitch devastated Honduras in 1998, and we grew to gain 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in 2001. Initially, the organization was sustained by the generosity of international volunteers, but we have gradually evolved such that more and more of our project work is managed by local Honduran leaders. Within a few years, we expect that we will be able to realize our vision of seeing equitable, fruitful, life-giving projects in the Cangrejal River Valley being 100% run by the local communities.

Global One Foundation (Global One) is a non-governmental, international aid organization. Global One is recognized for its unique focus on holistic education, sustainable farming for increased food supply and food security for residents and orphans of Kibera Kenya in Africa's largest urban settlement/slum. Oneness is a term used that depicts both the basis and the goal for human beings living in one community sharing a world system. Oneness includes all living beings and is based on universal transpersonal principles and insights undergirding all the worlds Wisdom traditions. Overcoming ignorance through meditative reflection, study, and the development of compassion and virtue, for the benefit of all beings. Global One aims to provide a developmental support system for those living in extreme poverty, esp. orphans and at risk populations unable to self-direct a future. Global One Schools are fully approved by the Kenyan National Exam Council as examination sites, providing chartered Global One's work contributes to co-create generational change. Global One Schools aim to reduce mental and emotional suffering, through mindfulness and TM Meditation training and PTSD relief to help victims of political and social violence, tribal conflict, and trauma of extreme poverty. Global One Schools work with the Global Oneness Farm as recipients of its own food supply through farming crops for breakfast and lunches to all students. The Global Oneness Farm provides 1,400 meals per day. The Global One Food program is in partnership with Start Somewhere Organization, www.startsomewhere.eu who provide resources for the food program and cooking materials. Global One advocates for threatened wildlife species such as Elephants and Gorillas. Global One advocates for preserving land in Earth's Biosphere Reserves. With the goal of helping under-served communities in India, Nepal, and Tibet receive the vital services they need, Karuna-Shechen was founded in 2000 by Matthieu Ricard (www.matthieuricard.org), renown TED speaker, author, and humanitarian. We strive to reduce inequalities and work toward a fairer and more compassionate world. We trust that communities can be lifted out of poverty, that change is possible, and that the well-being of every individual, regardless of race, gender, class, or caste, is essential. We believe that building on local strengths and knowledge is the most efficient way to respond to the specific needs and aspirations of our beneficiaries. Rooted in the ideal of "compassion in action", we serve others with joy and determination by cultivating altruism in our hearts and actions. We provide vulnerable and disadvantaged populations access to health care, education and vocational training, clean water, solar electricity, and other sustainable solutions that offer options to find a livelihood and a better life. We work with a grassroots network of local partners, and give special attention to the education and empowerment of girls and women. Karuna-Shechen's name expresses its mission while paying homage to its roots: Karuna means "compassion" in Sanskrit, and Shechen is the name of a major monastery in Tibet.

The mission of Children of Vietnam (CoV) is to “build brighter futures for poor, orphaned, homeless, disabled and vulnerable children in vietnam” with two overarching goals: a) to assist children and families overcome the cycle of poverty, ill health, and homelessness; b) to provide immediate aid to children and families in crisis. this mission is driven by our founders’ beliefs, which guide our daily efforts: every child deserves to be happy, every child deserves a bright future, every child deserves a future without poverty, every child deserves to develop to his or her full potential, we are making this happen one child, one family, one community at a time, we are doing this by educating, healing, sheltering and nurturing. CoV strives to achieve its goals through six initiatives further outlined below: healthcare, education, housing, nutrition, empowering foundations for women & their children, and hope system of care for children with disabilities. With the dedicated support of its founder, Ben Wilson, who works without pay, CoV’s 13-member board of directors, multiple volunteers, one and a half full-time us-based employee, 4 part-time hourly assistants, and a staff of 9 in-country Vietnamese nationals work to implement these various initiatives at the grass-roots level to provide maximum impact.

World Children's Initiative, Inc., is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to improving medical and educational systems for children in developing areas worldwide. Established in 2005, WCI grew from the experience of three young professionals of South Asian descent during their visit to Sri Lanka in February 2005. For Dr. Kanishka Ratnayaka, who is an ethnic Sinhalese, and Mr. Pratheepan Gulasekaram, an ethnic Tamil, the service mission was a deeply personal matter undertaken to aid friends,and family. The two men reached across the frontlines of a bloody, decades-long civil war to collaborate in the relief effort. The group of friends visited relief camps and orphanages to provide medical assistance at makeshift treatment centers. In addition, they brought school supplies and clothes to orphanages on the hard-hit eastern shore of the island. While providing immediate relief, the group also surveyed potential long-term projects for improvement of pediatric health care. Based on this assessment the team decided to initiative their maiden initiative, Project Peds: Sri Lanka.  Project Peds designed and constructed a new children's hospital in Matara, Sri Lanka, an area hard-hit by the tsunami. Currently, WCI is launching its second initiative, Project Heart: Uganda, aiming to improve screening and treatment of childhood heart disease in Uganda and east Africa.
