Aumazo's mission is to empower girls in Cameroon by making high school education and vocational training a viable option for girls in rural areas. Related goals include helping graduates obtain gainful employment or higher education,and addressing water and sanitation issues in their communities. In many Africa countries, school fees, early marriage, unwanted pregnancy, socio-cultural prejudice and mandatory chores are all barriers to the educational development of young women. At Aumazo, we recognize that it is often women and girls who drive transformational economies in the developing world. If provided with educational opportunities to attend high school girls will enjoy more successful lives as young adults.

Wakefulness Orphans and Widows Tanzania (Wow Tanzania or WOWT) is a National NGO that focuses on creating economical sustainability by providing jobs, entrepreneurial training, and education sponsorships for children and women. We focus on at-risk and disadvantaged youth between the ages of 7-23 years old, orphans, street children, single mothers, and working-age widows. We have a sponsor-a-child program for the poorest children in Tanzania, to provide food, clean water, clothes, health care, school sponsorships, and whatever the child needs to grow, be healthy, and finish school. Through our training programs, we teach the importance of living for the well-being of the community and just for ourselves.

Sustainable Coastlines is a registered New Zealand charity. We're on a mission to enable people to look after the coastlines and waterways they love. We love our coasts and waterways and we work with our sleeves rolled up to keep them healthy and beautiful. We deliver coastal clean-up events, educational programmes, public awareness campaigns, and riparian planting projects. We also work with volunteers, interns, ambassadors and local community groups to enable them to deliver these activities in their own communities. Delaware Nature Society’s mission is to connect people with the natural world to improve our environment through education, conservation, and advocacy. Founded in 1964, we are the state affiliate for the National Wildlife Federation. We provide the tools for communities to take action to protect the environment through land preservation, wildlife habitats, and watershed stewardship.We manage 2,000 acres of land, including 4 nature preserves, educational sites: Ashland Nature Center, Abbott’s Mill Nature Center, DuPont Environmental Education Center, and Coverdale Farm Preserve. From Books to Brilliance provides access to books and educational materials in impoverished communities. Countless children in our world grow up with no books. In Nicaragua and Guatemala, many of the rural poor live on less than one dollar a day. Without access to basic services such as potable water and sanitation, families struggle just to survive each day. Books are rarely found. At the local schools, teachers plan lessons and instruct with no textbooks. Children fortunate enough to attend school learn to read from words written on the blackboard, but without books cannot read to learn. Few children reach their intellectual potential. We believe that in creating access to books and information, a better future becomes possible for citizens living in abject poverty.

OBAT Helpers works for the welfare, support, and rehabilitation of displaced and stateless people by providing programs to alleviate the daily suffering and burdens of thousands of Urdu speaking people (known as "Biharis") who are stranded in makeshift camps in Bangladesh. OBAT Helpers implements projects in education and vocational training, self- empowerment through micro-financing, health care with clinics, drinking water, proper sewerage, and emergency relief projects. The Biharis have been stranded in Bangladesh since it achieved independence from Pakistan in 1971. Referred to as, astranded Pakistanis,a this community was supposed to be repatriated to Pakistan after the two countries separated but most of them could not due to political complications. They are presently citizens of nowhere, unclaimed by either country and marked by the UNHCR as refugees, yet deprived of the rights of refugees. They still live in the camps/slums that were supposed to serve as their temporary shelter forty years ago. This population is scattered across sixty-six camps which house around 300,000 people. Anyone visiting these camps would see a family of 7-10 people sharing a living space of 8x10 ft.; open sewers and overflowing drains; a single toilet or two for one hundred or so people; innocent six or seven year olds who should be in schools, working for a living; high-infant mortality rates due to absence of medical facilities; lack of clean drinking water; terrible or no sanitation facilities and nothing but abject poverty. OBAT Helpers is the only organization in North America which is committed to helping the Biharis to become self-reliant and empowered through proper education, health care and micro financing projects. OBAT started with providing help to one camp in 2004, and now, it is improving the lives of people in more than 30 out of the total 66 camps, after just six years. This is almost half of the total number of camps in Bangladesh.

OpEPA USA, founded in 2006, is a sister organization of OpEPA Colombia founded in 1998. The organizations were created as a means to reconnect children and adults with nature and promote positive environmental actions in Colombia and Latin America. Colombia is one of the most biodiverse countries in the world. It has an incredible wealth of ecosystems, flora, fauna and cultural diversity. However, Colombia suffers from serious environmental degradation. Deforestation, high levels of urban waste, polluted water and reduced air quality are just four of a litany of similar issues. The environmental movement in Colombia has employed the range of conventional tactics to address these issues. Public awareness campaigns have dotted the airwaves, and legislative changes have improved the legal basis for pursuing polluters. But young people, "the next generation of consumers and decision makers," cannot be scolded or legislated into caring about the environment. To truly change the way they approach environmental issues, they must feel personally compelled to transform the status quo. This is what OpEPA targets to do.

Walking Mountains Science Center's mission is to awaken a sense of wonder and inspire environmental stewardship through natural science education. To that end, we are focused on the following goals: 1. Improve the science literacy among the students in Eagle County by providing hands-on, experiential natural science education programs, indoors and out, that excite them about learning science and increase their knowledge of our mountain environment 2. Train exceptional science teachers through a graduate fellowship program whose participants serve as our educators for 15 months, then pursue their masters degrees and teaching careers where they continue to inspire students wherever they are located 3. Provide innovative science and environmental education programs for adults and families, both residents and visitors, that make them aware of the importance of sustainability, energy conservation, and the protection of our mountain environment, inspiring to take what they learned back to their home communities 4. Involve members of the community in citizen science projects, i.e. monitoring the water quality in Buck Creek on our campus, participating in annual bird counts, etc.
