AIDS United’s mission is to end the HIV epidemic in the United States. In the ongoing work for social justice and true equity, ending the HIV epidemic in the United States is our chosen role. We pursue our mission through three primary strategies: strategic grantmaking; technical and capacity building assistance; and policy and advocacy.We envision a time when all people, governments and organizations commit to ending the epidemic and strengthening the health, well-being, and human rights of everyone impacted by HIV. Sustainable Surf’s globally-recognized programs – The ECOBOARD Project, SeaTrees, Deep Blue Events, Waste to Waves and Deep Blue Life – provide the onramps that make that vision a reality. We use a “systems change” approach to protect ocean health – by catalyzing the radical transformation needed to switch industries to using ocean-friendly materials, ending plastic plastic pollution and restoring coastal ecosystems to reverse climate change.

South Eastern Medical Interpreters Association

The South Eastern Medical Interpreter Association provides continuing education opportunities and a forum for medical interpreters and translators to exchange ideas and experiences. SEMIA supports medical interpreter training in order to facilitate access to health care and other fundamental services for limited-English proficient and marginalized communities. The Association promotes professionalism and public awareness of the importance of providing quality interpretation services in health care. Purpose and Objectives: To increase professional and public awareness of the importance of providing qualified interpretation services in healthcare. To enhance the professional image of translators and interpreters in the healthcare industry. To contribute to improving the standards and professional ethics, practices and competency of medical interpreters. To strive to protect the rights and interests of professional medical interpreters and translators. To provide an open forum for medical interpreters and translators for the regular exchange of ideas and experience.

Population Council

The Population Council is dedicated to improving the reproductive health and well-being of the most vulnerable individuals in developing countries. Council researchers focus their efforts on three programs: HIV and AIDS; Poverty, Gender, and Youth; and Reproductive Health. Researchers draw on the multidisciplinary knowledge of colleagues from their own program as well as the other two programs to think broadly in developing, implementing, and testing programs that can help improve people's lives. The Council has a network of offices in 18 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East and over 500 staff members who hail from 33 countries. An international board of 15 individuals from 6 countries governs the organization. Council headquarters and biomedical laboratories are located in New York. The Council also has an office in Washington DC.
