826LA

826LA is a nonprofit organization with locations in Mar Vista and Echo Park; a satellite location at Manual Arts Senior High School; and relationships with more than 100 Los Angeles schools. We are dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. Our services are structured around the understanding that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention and that strong writing skills are fundamental to students’ future success. With this approach and objective in mind, we provide in-school tutoring, assistance with student publications, after-school tutoring, workshops, and help for English language learners All of our programs are free, and our overriding goal is to help our students find their voice and give them the power to express that voice with creativity and confidence.

Open Hands Community Project

Open Hands Community Project is a community development program designed to provide students in low-income communities a safe, free after-school program. The goal of the program is to equip and empower students with the tools they need to help them better their lives by partnering with local schools and focusing on Education, Bible Study and Lifeskills while providing for everyday day needs and helping them find a hope for their future. In Jan of 2018, we opened a small subsidized High School offing quality education in a loving and encouraging environment for students who have a desire to succeed but the public system has failed. All of our students come from families who cannot afford a quality High School. We currently have 6 students with the ability to take 5 more for next year.

The Elephant Project

Our mission is to develop new ideas and implement new solutions to address the short and long-term threats to elephant survival, providing them a new future free of cruelty and death at the hands of humans. Our unique approach of developing communities that will end poaching and illegal trafficking, implementing humane economies within host countries and by creating non-invasive research facilities, we will bring transformational change to this epic struggle while bettering the lives of the indigenous population and the host government. The Elephant Project will create self-sustaining and self-funding sanctuaries and communities reducing the need to constantly fundraise for the project. This project is designed to be a model that can be used all over the world to protect endangered species, better the economies of the host country, provide skills training, jobs, healthcare and educational opportunities for the indigenous population.

Young Guru Academy

YGA is a non-governmental non-profit organization founded in Turkey. It cultivates a double-winged youth to make us hopeful for the future of the world. These young individuals improve their two wings - conscience and competency - while developing international projects that provide social benefits. Science Movement is a social responsibility project initiated by YGA to make children love science. Science Movement is aimed to grow self-confident individuals who can think free of boundaries and develop authentic projects. Under the scope of the protocol signed with the Ministry of Education, 10 science kits will be sent to each secondary school that is in need of science material in every corner of Turkey. Teachers in schools that received science kits have access to a platform, in which they have rich experimental content as well as examples of in-class use of the science kits.
