Founded in 2007, Pachamama's Path supports the Kusi Kawsay Association in sustaining traditional culture by working together for the protection, promotion and cultivation of Andean culture. Kusi Kawsay Andean School is an indigenous-led school dedicated to providing access to a dignified education to vulnerable, at risk and economically challenged Andean children and youth from Pisac and the surrounding communities. Kusi Kawsay is a bilingual (Quechua and Spanish) school that teaches Andean Legacy classes and draws its pedagogic inspiration from Waldorf elements.

Cornerstone's school-wide average performance rate is 20% above the national average. July 2009, Cornerstone expanded its educational model to the public school sector with the acquisition of two public school charters, Washington-Parks Academy and Lincoln-King Academy. August 2010, they will open the Leadership and Business High School. Over 1400 children are currently enrolled at our schools.

Dc Youth Orchestra Program

DCYOP’s mission is to empower young people to transform their lives through music and community. Founded in 1960 by DC Public School teacher Lyn McLain, DCYOP has been an integral part of the Washington, DC community, fostering the musical and academic development of more than 60,000 youth. The first youth orchestra to perform at the Kennedy Center, DCYOP has toured 23 countries, played for U.S. presidents and diplomats, and worked with world-renowned musicians including Aaron Copland, Lorin Maazel, Mstislav Rostropovich, Gustavo Dudamel, Joshua Bell, and Yo-Yo Ma. DCYOP has also received the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award and the District of Columbia Mayor’s Award for Outstanding Contributions to Arts Education.
